As a photographer, I am humbled to encounter individuals from all walks of life, to endeavor to capture their most prized attributes, and to encapsulate the essence of each human I meet in the eternity of photographs. I am proud to have shared a part in each of my client’s lives; to be a part of their memories and to commemorate their best days on film. As a Concert Photographer I have been hired by many talented musicians and bands to express in images what their songs express in words. As a Portrait Photographer I have been employed to chronicle the ever-in-flux families who require family vignettes, as well as those talented professionals looking to upgrade their resumes with powerful new head-shots. As a Wedding Photographer I have been honored to participate in the celebration of new chapters in the lives of my clients, understanding that each moment is precious on these momentous days when two families join as one. I hope you enjoy perusing my blog, as it represents the highlights of the lives I have thus-far touched. Cheers, Sam Sam Burkardt Photography is a thriving business in the greater New York City area. Sam is proud to have been honored by the 2012 Talenthouse / Emeli Sande competition, in which her photograph “To be among the stars…” was chosen as the distinguished best. She thoroughly enjoyed photographing the esteemed Emeli Sande and has since flourished in Concert Photography boasting the involved photoshoots of stars such as Sara Bareilles, Empire of the Sun, The Kooks, and X Ambassadors. Sam has also been honored by Talenthouse as a featured ‘highlighted artist’ and awarded with a second victory in one of their photography competitions. She has also worked alongside The Travel Channel on The Dead Files as a Production Assistant and photographer. Sam is currently contracted as a photographer for Universal Music Group who have hired her for large music festivals such as SXSW in Austin, Texas, and to photograph up-and-coming artists in and around New York City. Sam has been welcomed into the lives of many busy families who have taken the time to record the too-quick childhoods of their children. Some of those outstandingly special photographs include the Dayton family and the Smith family. Sam’s photographs are being used in an increasing number of resumés and also in the marketing campaigns of musicians like Emily King and Empire of the Sun. Sam is an accommodating and approachable photographer who is guaranteed to bring out your very best. Trust her with your important events and preserve your important days in photographs that will endure in style and heart forever. “You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.” — Ansel Adams
