Neil Swanson, known as Son Of Swan has been recognized by Grammy winning guitar icon Steve Vai for being one of the top 10 guitar players in the US, winning Guitar Center's Steve Vai Sessions contest. So far this year, Neil opened up for Vai on his Story Of Light Tour and was chosen as a winner through Talenthouse.com to be a part of Orianthi's "Be My Band". From there, Neil secured a spot playing with Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. Following up on his success in early 2014, Neil was endorsed by PRS Guitars and EMG pickups and you can find out more about his gear on his artist profile on www.emgpickups.com and www.prsguitars.com. In the beginning, Neil, a Texas native, began his career playing in every band in every club he could in the Dallas area. Keeping “Dimebag” Darrell as inspiration, he cut his teeth the old fashioned way. After a few near successes with rock, pop and hip hop groups he was a part of, and gaining valuable touring experience playing his way through Asia, Germany and Kosovo to perform for US troops as well as national US tours. Neil decided he would focus on what he wanted to do artistically from the very beginning. That idea was a solo project called Son Of Swan. Son Of Swan combines powerful rock riffs and beautiful melody with electronic elements of modern music. Its meant to push the boundaries of what popular music could be allowing the listener space to create their own ideas about what the music meant. The self-titled EP debut in Spring 2013 has gained him a tremendous following and acclaim from industry insiders and is bringing his modern twist to a genre he believes in. Following in the footsteps of the greats, his goal is to bring the guitar virtuoso genre to the new generations. Neil writes, programs, and records all of his own material so 2014 will continue to keep him busy. Son Of Swan's new EP called "New Texas" will be available summer 2014. In addition to that, he also plays with a young emerging artist named Bean and will continue to work with commercial clients. Past clients include the Texas Rangers, Stampede Beer and CBS 11. He also also recently inked a licensing deal with Red Temple Music and Music Dealers. He is known for his unique guitar sounds and originality which appeals to all artists and clients that want to be set apart from the rest. As a session player, Neil has also worked with producers such as Carlos "Six July" Broady (Diddy, Nas, Lil Kim, The Notorious B.I.G, Mary J Blige), Aaron Accetta (American Authors, Forever The Sickest Kids) and others. Neil loves working with a variety of artists and genres in the studio.
