FINALIST ANNOUNCEMENT: December 22, 2018

Hello everyone, we are excited to announce that the GM team has selected their 10 incredible Finalists! From these Finalists, GM is choosing the submission(s) they feel best fits as the potential official brand name for their all-new eBike. With so many stunning submissions, the judges had a truly formidable task to select only 10. In the end, it was not only the amazing names, but also the thoughtful descriptions that played an important role in these 10 Finalist selections.

Congratulations to Erin Rodness, Anthony Mitchell, Sofia Macko, Kaitlyn Errington, Natalia Szulc, Scott Lewis, Alex Worthington, Matthew Bumford, and Victoria Geary on being named Finalists - with one of these artists being selected for two separate entries!

We're also absolutely ecstatic to share that GM has expressed that they will be choosing an additional Selected Artist!
By 2030, 60% of the world’s population will live in cities.* This will increase the strain on road and transit infrastructure, increase frustrations for city residents, and impact pollution. General Motors has a bold vision for a future with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion.

Imagine a future where it’s possible to get to work without transit headaches, having gotten some exercise, and doing it all faster than ever before. GM has begun to create a line of eBikes that will not only be more affordable than cars, giving people the chance of ownership of a viable electric mode of transportation, but will give them more freedom than ever before; connecting them with the world around them and controlling the way they move about a city.

To bring that future to life, GM is calling on you! Put on your conceptual thinking cap to help create a smart, bold, and buzzworthy brand name for GM's all-new eBikes. Using the images within this brief and the "Things to Consider" section below, get familiar with the first two products in GM’s new line of connected, super convenient, future-facing eBikes!

Each submission should include one brand name and a description (in English, max. 100-150 words) detailing how your brand name best represents GM's brand-new eBikes. Both elements must be submitted via the "Participate tab" in a single PDF.

Submit up to ten (10) ideas. One Selected Work (as defined in the Official Rules) will have the opportunity to receive $10,000! Nine other Finalists (as defined in the Official Rules) will have the opportunity to each receive $1,000.
