Renowned photographer Rankin lends his support to ending world hunger and poverty by raising awareness for the programs of Heifer International. Heifer International's mission is to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth. Heifer International, together with The Hunger Magazine and Rankin, are inviting aspiring photographers to submit their best photography inspired by the Heifer International mission: hunger. One winner will have their photograph displayed and promoted at the Fahey-Klein Gallery reception.
Synonymous with compelling portraiture, Rankinʼs lens captures, creates and unveils icons. Rankin made his name in publishing, founding the seminal monthly magazine Dazed & Confused with Jefferson Hack in 1992. His body of work features some of the most celebrated publications, biggest brands and pioneering charities, including Nike, Swatch, Dove, Pantene, Diageo, Womenʼs Aid, and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Heifer International’s mission is to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth. Since 1944, Heifer International has helped more than 18.5 million families by providing livestock and environmentally sound agricultural training to improve the lives of those who struggle daily for reliable sources of food and income.

The winning photographer will:
  • Receive exposure for their submission which will be exclusively featured in The Hunger Magazine and across The Hunger Magazine's social media channels
  • Have their photograph exhibited at a private reception at the Fahey-Klein Gallery in Los Angeles
  • Receive two tickets to attend the Fahey-Klein Gallery reception*

*Travel and accommodation are the responsibility of the winner

The highest-voted photographer will receive exposure for their submission which will be promoted on The Hunger Magazine's Facebook page.
The Hunger Magazine is a bi-annual magazine from photographer and publisher, Rankin. Launched in November 2011 - 20 years after Dazed & Confused was founded and 10 years after the birth of Another - The Hunger provides a new platform for uncompromised self-expression, innovation and discovery.
With over 5,000 members, Brits in LA will support the 'hunger' contest through voting in the finalist round. Brits in LA is a web-based member only group of Ex-pats that has helped shaped the British Community in Los Angeles since 2007. Answering questions and giving free advice on all subjets, from visas and green-cards to housing and taxes, Brits in LA is the first port of call for ex-pats in the Los Angeles area.
Rankin will select from all qualified submissions with special consideration for the top voted entries. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.
  • Photographs must be submitted in JPG or PNG (5MB Max)
  • Photography submitted must be original (meaning not using third party copyright materials) but can be pre-existing or created especially for this opportunity
  • Photographs must represent the theme of 'hunger'
  • Entrants must retain their original file should they be selected as the winner
