Energy is consumed around the world everyday, bringing our world to life.
Shell are telling the story of these energy moments in their thought-leading online publication '
Inside Energy'.
Shell invites photographers from around the world to submit spontaneous photographs that capture interactions with energy all around the world at the same time. The photos should capture the idea of 'one planet, many energy systems', and show the diverse range of ways we use energy every day.The term ‘energy systems’ covers the various ways in which humans use energy. The aim of this project is to demonstrate the centrality of energy to life, to show the diverse applications of energy inside different energy systems around the world every single day.
The judging panel are looking for candid photographs from every continent, depicting the application of energy in a range of environments. This could be anything from a lighthouse on a deserted island, rush-hour traffic, a public transport commute, to advanced hospital equipment. But to make it more interesting and to show the contrasts around the world, Shell are looking for you to
capture your interaction with energy wherever you are at 12:07 PM GMT (Greenwich Mean Time, or the equivalent time in your timezone). Take inspiration from this
mood board.
Up to 10 photographs will be selected by Shell and feature in the photo-led article 'My Energy Moment’ in Shell's online publication 'Inside Energy'. The article will be promoted on Shell's global social media channels, and selected photographs may be showcased on Shell's social channels. Photographers will receive £1,000 for each photo chosen.
