Create Artwork for Pabst Blue Ribbon's Art Can Contest 2022
To celebrate the 10th Art Can Contest, Pabst Blue Ribbon invites you to create and submit your Pabst Blue Ribbon inspired, two-toned Can Design! The Pabst Blue Ribbon Art Can Contest has put original art on over 300 million cans and has awarded over $100,000 to emerging artists all over the United States.
For their 10th anniversary celebration, Pabst Blue Ribbon is going above and beyond to offer not one but ten (10) prizes of $10,000 USD to ten (10) winning designs from all across the world! That’s right, we’re opening up the Art Can contest to artists outside of the US this time too. We say, cheers to that!
Think outside of the can; create your own PBR-inspired, two-toned style art that speaks to your creativity and the free spirit of PBR.
The top 25 artworks selected by the official judging panel during the Early Entry Deadline and the Final Deadline will then be featured on the Pabst Blue Ribbon official website and move into public/community voting for the final top ten prizes of $10k each.
Participants MUST be 21+. There are NO exceptions. Bummer.
Your artwork should be two-toned, in Pantone color code: PMS 280 and PANTONE 000C. If you include gradients/shading, your artwork should have either a transparent or silver base in line with the Pabst Blue Ribbon branding.
The aluminum of the can will show through in your artwork where there are transparent or silver parts (ie. no ink used where the aluminum will be showing through in your artwork).
Keep the PBR brand logo prominent within your concept. You may tweak the logo and add your own spin and flair to it, but make sure it's still recognizable!
Make sure the brand logo feels prominent enough to be recognizable on shelves or in a dimly-lit bar.
Use the PBR can art template to help with formatting your artwork. The art can template is just a guide. You are not required to submit your art with the template but it is highly encouraged.
Other than the required two-tone color scheme, feel free to think outside of the box. Take risks! Ultimately, be true to yourself and your creative identity. When selecting a winner, PBR is ultimately investing in YOU.
There is an Early Entry Deadline of November 15th. At this deadline, five artworks will be selected to move forward into public/community voting in 2022. All works submitted before/by the Early Entry deadline will also still be eligible for selection at the Final Deadline.
Artwork will be printed on cans throughout the US, but artwork need not appeal specifically to the US Market.
The artwork will potentially be printed on 12oz, 16oz and 24oz PBR cans, merch, on social or OOH .
Initial submissions may be turned in as .jpegs or .png to the Talenthouse platform. Final artworks must be available in vector file format to be eligible for selection. All files must be vectored for the print production of the cans and must fit the following spec requirements:
14 x 20.25 inches / 35.56 x 51.435 cm
300dpi or larger
Use the colors PMS 280 (Blue) and Pantone 000C (white) ONLY
Let your creativity and individuality shine through in your artwork. Pabst Blue Ribbon is not looking for sleek, minimalist packaging redesign or generic product design. The PBR can itself is a vessel for YOUR creative vision and YOUR artwork.
Submit by the Early Entry Deadline for a greater chance of placing in the top 25 submissions that will move forward into public community voting!
Feel free to submit up to 15 different artworks.

Do not include anything that could be interpreted as violent, sexually explicit, racist, pornographic, sexist, political, discriminating, religious, or offensive.
Do not show characters consuming alcohol or illicit drugs (as dictated by your local government and legislation).
Do not show characters that could be perceived as under 21+. No Big Babies, sorry.
Do not include any recognizable brands or logos not associated with Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Do not submit packaging re-designs or package design artwork

Do not use third-party pre-existing copyright materials and/or stock imagery in your submission.
Do not tweak the Pabst Blue Ribbon logo beyond recognition—you can add your own spin and flair on the logo but we should still be able to recognize it!

Pabst Blue Ribbon is an American lager beer sold by Pabst Brewing Company, established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1844 and currently based in San Antonio, Texas. In 2015, Pabst Blue Ribbon won the "best large brewing company of the year" award at the Great American Beer Festival.

Ten (10) pieces of work will be chosen by Pabst Blue Ribbon, the official judging panel (to be announced!), and through community/public voting as Selected Creators. Each will:
Potentially have their work used across Pabst Blue Ribbon socials, digital and wider marketing channels.
Be featured on the Pabst Blue Ribbon 2022 Art Can Contest website for public/community voting.
Receive $10,000 USD for each piece selected.
Potentially have their artwork printed on Pabst Blue Ribbon cans for distribution in the United States in 2022.
FINALISTS: Additionally 15 pieces of work will be chosen as official Finalists. Each will:
Potentially have their work used across Pabst Blue Ribbon social and digital channels.

Who is eligible: This opportunity is open globally with restrictions (See Official Rules for sanctioned countries). Creators must be at least 21 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction of primary residence at the time of submission.
All submissions must be your own original work (meaning you are not allowed to use third party pre-existing copyright materials and/or stock imagery in your submission) except for the material provided by Pabst Blue Ribbon. All rights in and to the material provided are reserved by Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Multiple submissions (up to 15) are allowed.
How to submit: Click on the ‘Participate’ tab and follow the instructions. Static imagery must be uploaded as JPEG or PNG. Please retain your original layered artwork files in Vector file format in the highest quality possible within the spec requirements laid out under “Things to Consider”.
All works must comply with the submission requirements detailed in the Official Rules.
Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief and follow the guidelines or Official Rules.
Employees and their immediate family and household members of Pabst Blue Ribbon and Talenthouse (Talenthouse, Ello, Zooppa, Eye Em, Jovoto) are not eligible to participate. Void where prohibited by law.
If you are not selected, you will retain ownership in the original portions of your work. However, by submitting you hereby grant Pabst Blue Ribbon a worldwide, non-exclusive, digital license from Creative Brief launch, for up to 3 months after the Selected Creator Announcement, to use your submitted work across their various online and social media platforms. If your work is used, you will be credited accordingly.
Selected Creators must respond to Talenthouse within 2 days of receiving the notification email or else forfeit all incentives.
Please provide an active email address when registering with Talenthouse to ensure you can be contacted should you be selected.
During the Selection Period, Talenthouse will reach out to those being shortlisted. You must respond to Talenthouse within 48 hours or else you will forfeit all incentives. For the verification, you will be asked to provide the original files of your work and a scan of your ID.
If selected, you may be asked to modify your work to fit production requirements. Failure to modify may be a forfeit of their Selected Creator status and the associated prize.
Upon selection, you will be required to sign a License Agreement and the Awardee Agreement. Please note that submissions can be used by you for personal, non-commercial and portfolio use only.
Talenthouse and Pabst Blue Ribbon reserves the right to disqualify entrants and votes if it has reasonable grounds to suspect that fraudulent, excessive or suspicious patterns of voting have occurred or if it considers there has been any attempt to rig or manipulate the results of voting.

Pabst Blue Ribbon will select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Creative Brief Guidelines and Official Rules. The judging criteria are based on:

25% Community/Public votes
25% Guest Judges

All selections are subject to final approval by Pabst Blue Ribbon.
