For more than 26 years, STARLIGHT EXPRESS has thrilled audiences in the extraordinary theater that was built exclusively for the musical. Over 15 million visitors have already seen the breathtaking roller skating show and have been fascinated by the dazzling costumes, the energy and action that only this musical spectacle can offer.

From the beginning, STARLIGHT EXPRESS worked daily with creative people from all over the world: more than 350 contributors including dancers, singers, musicians, stylists, designers and stage managers from 25 countries have made the musical a unique experience.

Here is your chance to become part of this great creative team:

STARLIGHT EXPRESS and Mehr! Entertainment Group invite artists from all over the world to create the official 2015 T-shirt for the musical.

Get inspired by the great music, rousing performances and excellent choreography and show Starlight Express your creative talent!
More than a quarter of a century ago, star composer Andrew Lloyd Webber created the "World Cup of locomotives" and composed the music for STARLIGHT EXPRESS. Following its world premiere in 1984 at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre and Broadway premiere in 1987, an exclusive theater was built in Bochum Germany, solely for STARLIGHT EXPRESS and opened on June 12, 1988 for the German premiere.

Since then, this extraordinary production has captivated audiences from all over the world with daredevil acrobatics and stunt skaters who race at a speed of up to 60 km/h on tracks that twist through the thrilled audience.

STARLIGHT EXPRESS is very excited to see your design that should be inspired by the music and the excellent dynamics of this roller skate musical.

Here are some important requirements and a few tips that will help you make a great T-shirt for STARLIGHT EXPRESS:
  • The design should visually reflect the dynamics, speed and acrobatics of STARLIGHT EXPRESS.
  • Please create your design graphically with no photographic elements.
  • The design should be bold and clear.
  • The logo of STARLIGHT EXPRESS cannot be part of your design.
  • The design from the selected artist will be exported onto a dark colored T-shirt.
  • Please take into account the technical requirements before submitting your file. You can find this information in the CREATIVE INVITE GUIDELINES.
  • Your design must be original, that is completely your own creation.
From all of the submissions, a jury from STARLIGHT EXPRESS will personally select one artist whose design will be implemented on the official 2015 T-shirt.

In addition, the Selected Artist will receive:
  • Social media exposure across the channels Talenthouse and STARLIGHT EXPRESS
  • 2,000 EUR
Engage your friends, family and supporters to help share your work! The artist with the highest number of shares will receive:
  • 1,000 EUR

  • This opportunity is open globally to participants ages 18 and older only.
  • The design has to be created purely graphically and cannot contain photographic elements.
  • The logo of STARLIGHT EXPRESS cannot be part of your design.
  • The original design should be created as a loss-free scalable vector-file and saved in EPS file format. If you need to create a pixel file, make sure it has a size of at least 5000x5000px and use TIFF or PSD as the format. Please choose CMYK color space and do not use more than eight colors. Do not use thin lines (<1mm) and if you use fonts please convert them into paths. Participants must retain their original artwork should they be selected, but designs must be submitted in JPEG or PNG, max. size 5MB.
  • The submitted artwork can be pre-existing or created especially for this opportunity.
  • All elements of the artwork submitted must be original, meaning that they have to be self-created by the participants and meet the Official Rules. Using third party copyright materials is prohibited.
  • Submissions need to include a short description about the design and about the artist.
  • Talenthouse reserves the right to disqualify artists who we believe are cheating the sharing system as this is against the spirit of the Creative Invite.
  • Participants must join Talenthouse using an active email address in order to ensure they can be contacted should they be selected.
  • When submissions are shared on social media platforms please use the hashtag #StarlightExpressShirt.
  • STARLIGHT EXPRESS and Mehr! Entertainment can use the selected artwork according to the official guidelines. STARLIGHT EXPRESS and Mehr! Entertainment can use the submitted artworks within the context of this Creative Invite.
  • All artists retain the copyright to their submissions, excluding the Selected Artist who will receive the announced incentives for their work.
  • The chosen design may be modified for production purposes of the Fan-Shirt.
  • The selected artists must respond to Talenthouse within 7 days of receiving the notification email or else will forfeit all incentives.
  • All submissions will feature as part of a global gallery with public sharing on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
  • Participants should have an up-to-date Talenthouse profile with a short description about themselves.
  • Inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions, as well as submissions that do not fit the brief, will be removed.
  • No purchase necessary.

STARLIGHT EXPRESS will select from all qualified submissions, which meet all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.

As soon as you have submitted your work, feel free to start sharing your submission on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. These shares will count towards the Most Shared award. Please note, it does not impact your chance of being chosen as the overall Selected Artist if you choose not to share.
