Design for Fox Searchlight's new movie, Stoker

THE BRIEF

Top movie studio Fox Searchlight and London’s premium art-house cinema chain Curzon are inviting artists and designers to create collectable movie postcards for upcoming film Stoker starring Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasikowska and Matthew Goode.

Five winning designs will be produced and distributed at Curzon Soho from 1st March 2013 when the film is released. The winning artists will receive a cash prize, be credited on their postcards, feature across Curzon's online channels and receive a large scale printed version of their design.

Postcard designs can be presented in any digital artistic format; iPad art, drawing, 3D, paint, photography, graphic design, illustration etc. Participants may take inspiration from the official movie trailer, making of movie poster film, the cast and themes of the story.

ABOUT STOKER
After India's (Wasikowska's) father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie (Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother (Kidman). Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.

THE CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The judging panel will use the social votes as a guide to select five winners who will have their work produced onto postcards and distributed at Curzon Soho.

In addition, they will receive:

  • £500 each
  • Feature across both Curzon and Fox Searchlight's online channels
  • Feature in Curzon's monthly print magazine (March issue)
  • A large scale printed version of their design

One overall winner will be featured in the Metro newspaper.

THE COMMUNITY CHOICE
The highest voted artist will receive £250.
    CREATIVE INVITE GUIDELINES
    • Participants must be over 18 years old
    • Participants must submit a JPG or PNG (5MB Max)
    • This opportunity is open to UK residents, if you are not from the UK you understand and agree that you are not eligible for prizing
    • Participants must retain their original artwork should they be chosen as a winner
    • Designs must be original (meaning not using third party pre-existing copyright materials)
    • Participants must include a description about their design
    • Participants must join using an active email address so if chosen they can be easily contacted
    • Inappropriate or harmful submissions will be removed
    • No purchase necessary

    HOW CURZON CINEMAS WILL CHOOSE

    Curzon Cinemas will select from all qualified submissions with special consideration for the top voted entries. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.
