Design the Ultimate Office Space for HP and Microsoft

THE BRIEF

Calling all aspiring architects, graphic designers, 3D artists and tech enthusiasts! HP and Microsoft are inviting you to transform the old style workplace of the past - the standard drab desk and chair - to the ULTIMATE Office Space of the future. What would YOUR ultimate office look like?

Show off your skills by submitting your best ergonomic and aesthetic Office Space design in any format, from hand drawn sketches to computer generated graphic designs or a photograph, whilst integrating the provided HP technology. Submissions will be judged based on criteria from IT professionals, creativity and style.

The campaign will be judged by a panel of fellow designers, SMB leaders, IT managers and HP experts to select one winner whose vision will be brought to life at the 2013 Altitude Design Summit in Salt Lake City.

THE CAREER OPPORTUNITY

One winner will have their Office Space design produced and featured at Altitude Design Summit on January 23-26, 2013. 

In addition, the winner will receive:

  • A round trip airfare for two to Salt Lake City
  • Two nights accommodation at the Grand America Hotel, Salt Lake City
  • Admission for two to the Altitude Design Summit
  • Food and transportation totaling $500 in the form of an American Express gift card
  • An assortment of HP and Windows 8 Technology from the winning design totaling $2,000
  • Exposure for their submission which will be featured on HP Small Business social media channels, Microsoft's social media channels and Altitude Design Website

BRAD ASCALON
Brad Ascalon founded his eponymous Brad Ascalon Studio NYC in 2006. The multidisciplinary design studio specializes in furniture, packaging, consumer products, environment design and development, as well as site-specific sound composition and installation art projects. Working with clients ranging from large-scale manufacturers to smaller start-ups, branding agencies and private clients, Ascalon’s collaborators have included Ligne Roset, Design Within Reach, Bernhardt Design, L’Oreal, Esquire magazine, Rockwell Group and many others.

RANDALL MARTIN
Randall Martin currently serves in the role of Chief Design Strategist for HP’s Personal Computer Global Business Unit and is a frequent presenter and spokesperson for HP’s Design and Innovation initiatives. A 30 year veteran of the PC industry, his career has spanned design and design management roles across three of the IT industry’s leading corporations, IBM, Compaq and HP.
RAMSON RAY
Ramon is editor and technology evangelist of Smallbiztechnology.com. He is passionate about helping small businesses grow their businesses using technology as a strategic asset. Ramon is a journalist, free lance writer, event producer, author and national speaker.

HOW THE JUDGES WILL CHOOSE
The Judges will select from all qualified submissions with special consideration for the top voted entries. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.
CREATIVE INVITE GUIDELINES
  • Submissions must be either a design of the Office Space or a photograph of the Office Space
  • The winning design will be produced at Altitude Design Summit to the following size dimensions: 10 foot by 10 foot
  • Participants must retain their original file (artwork or photograph) should they be chosen as a winner
  • The winning design may be modified to suit production requirements
  • Submissions must be original and submitted in JPEG or PNG format and must not have been commercially used either before or during this Creative Invite
  • Participants must incorporate at least one of the downloadable HP product images from the provided .zip files in their submission.
