THE BRIEF
Green Day were kids from working-class backgrounds who came of age in the underground punk scene in Berkeley. The five-time Grammy award winning band set the precedent for modern rock and roll in the millennium with albums like American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown.

With the release of their much-anticipated trilogy, Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré, Green Day is inviting aspiring designers to submit their best graphic artwork as inspired by their music for the opportunity to have it featured as their Facebook timeline photo.
ABOUT GREEN DAY
Though having released two albums prior to it, Green Day truly announced its arrival with 1994's Dookie, a dynamic blast of exuberant punk-pop that sold 15 million copies and earned the band its first Grammy® Award for Best Alternative Music Performance. Over the years, Green Day continued to top the charts with the subsequent studio albums Insomniac, Nimrod, and Warning, while entertaining millions of fans with their frenetic live shows. But it was their landmark 2004 album American Idiot that launched Green Day into the stratosphere. American Idiot debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, spawned five hit singles, earned seven Grammy® nominations (winning two, including Best Rock Album).
THE CAREER OPPORTUNITY

One winner will have their design featured as Green Day’s timeline photograph.


In addition the winner will receive:

  • Exposure for their submission on Green Day’s social media channels
  • One pair of tickets to a Green Day concert of the winner’s choice (travel and accommodation is the responsibility of the winner)
  • Five signed copies of Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré
  • $500
THE COMMUNITY CHOICE
The highest voted artist will receive exposure for their submission on Green Day’s Facebook page
HOW GREEN DAY WILL CHOOSE
Green Day will select from all qualified submissions with special consideration for the top voted entries. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.
CREATIVE INVITE GUIDELINES
  • Participants may design their artwork to measure the Facebook Timeline requirements of 851x315
  • Submissions must be original and submitted in JPEG or PNG format and must not have been commercially used either before or during this Creative Invite
  • The winning design may be modified to suit production requirements
  • Participants must retain their original artwork/designs should they be chosen as a winner
