Design a tour poster for AURORA

This spring, Glassnote Records artist AURORA will embark on a multi-city tour across the United States, supported by label mate Tor Miller. AURORA invites artists from around the world to create a limited edition poster promoting the tour.

Artists, illustrators and graphic designers are encouraged to listen to AURORA's music on Spotify and get inspired by her dark, ethereal vibes and lyrics. Poster designs should include AURORA's likeness and name, as well as Tor Miller's name and the tour dates. Poster designs can be either animated or static images. Use this mood board for inspiration.

The selected poster will be used in all digital marketing materials promoting the tour and across the social media channels of Glassnote Records, AURORA and Tor Miller. One Selected Artist will receive $1,000 and one Highly Commended Artist will receive $500. Limit ten (10) submissions per artist or artist team.

After hearing her lithe, fairytale-reminiscent songs, perhaps it wouldn’t surprise you to learn that AURORA (born Aurora Aksnes) hails from a Norwegian city with a name which translates to “Fjord of Lights.” Or that when she was six, the future singer/songwriter was disciplined for convincing classmates that their school was overrun with talking mice. Or even that her first brush with making music was discovering a toy piano, and she managed to keep her hobby a secret from her parents until well into her teen years. Now nineteen and on the cusp of releasing her debut full-length, All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend, AURORA’s fantasies have only grown, inhabiting every corner of her music.

In the midst of the release of his new single "Carter & Cash," Tor is working to complete his debut album at London’s Eastcote studios with the producer Eliot James (Noah and the Whale, Two Door Cinema Club, Plan B, Bloc Party). He’s determined not to play it safe, he says, or smooth off the rough edges in his songs. “Risk-taking is rare in music. When I wrote some of these songs, I’d listen to some of the lyrics and think, ‘Fuck – do I really want to be saying that? Do I really want to let everyone know how I feel?’ But I think that’s something you have to do if you want to produce work that is honest.” The key moment in "Midnight" is when with the backing vocals rising to a tumult behind him, Tor sings “Calling out, calling out for something true.” The most thrilling thing about Tor Miller – though he may not have realized this yet – is that he’s found it.

    One Selected Artist, as chosen by AURORA, will:
    • Have their artwork used in the official digital marketing materials for AURORA's tour

    • This opportunity is open globally to those who are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. Void where prohibited.
    • Limit ten (10) submissions per artist or artist team.
    • Artists should retain their original artwork files (in 300dpi) but designs must be submitted in JPEG, PNG or GIF max size 10MB.
    • All submissions must be original artwork (meaning not using third party pre-existing copyright materials except the likeness of AURORA). No photography please.
    • The tour dates and locations in the segment THE POSTER as well as AURORA's likeness and name and Tor Miller's name have to be incorporated into the submission.
    • Poster designs must include the hashtag #AllMyDemonsTour.
    • The poster does not need to follow any particular size requirements, but you may use 18 x 24 inches as starting point.
    • The main Selected Artist may be asked to modify their poster design to fit production requirements.
    • The Selected Artist grants Glassnote Records and AURORA a worldwide, exclusive, unrestricted, perpetual license to use the submitted design in any and all digital media for the promotion of AURORA's tour. The Selected Artist will have to sign a License Agreement. In return, the Selected Artist will receive the specified incentives.
    • Artists that are not selected will not give up any rights to their work, however AURORA and Tor Miller have the right to promote their work on their channels in connection with this Creative Invite. All artists will be credited accordingly.
    • Artists must join Talenthouse using an active email address in order to ensure they can be contacted should they be selected.
    • The Selected Artist must respond to Talenthouse within two days of receiving the notification email or else will forfeit all incentives.
    • Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief or guidelines.

    AURORA will select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.
