Design a 90's rave poster for This Is England '90 on Channel 4

Artists Selected On
June 18, 2015
Channel 4 and "This Is England '90" invite creators from around the world to submit poster artwork that captures the zeitgeist of UK club culture during the 1990's, the time when clubs and dance music changed British youths' habits forever.

Three Selected Artists will have their work used within the interactive marketing campaign to promote the series, and will each receive £1,000 and a mentoring session with Channel 4's creative department, 4Creative.

Artists are encouraged to view the inspiration section below, as well as this Pinterest board. Please do not include photography or text that says "This Is England '90" in your submissions.

Judges are looking for imaginative and nostalgic poster artwork that illustrates how club culture kicked off in a big way with house, acid, drum & bass and trance dividing dance floors in the UK.
the 90's scene - inspiration
For those who experienced the 90's in England, the music, culture and fashion scene were rooted in 'Acid House'. It was fresh, raw and truly energetic. Illegal all-night raves were a must. The colour-ways were vivid and inspired by 'acid' colours. Album covers and rave flyers were a mix of Salvador Dali and vector artwork. The flyers conveyed energy, an altered state or simple typography and graphics. Everything popped and looked simple, homemade and just cool. People flocked to clubs such as The Hacienda and Shelley's and literally danced the night away, illicitly. Simply put - it was electric.
