Barely escaping an avalanche during a family ski vacation in the Alps, a married couple is thrown into disarray as they are forced to reevaluate their lives and how they feel about each other.

Create one-of-a-kind sarcastic Valentine’s Day cards inspired by the upcoming comedy, DOWNHILL, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell. Feel free to include a sarcastic Valentine's Day card phrase/message on your submission. Some thought starters to include are below:

Five (5) pieces of artwork from this contest will be selected and potentially be used in the DOWNHILL theatrical marketing campaign. Selected Creators will receive $2,000 for each piece selected.

*Please note, this Creative Brief is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia or Canada (excluding Quebec) who are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of primary residence (whichever is older) at the time of entry. The age of majority is 19 in Alabama, Nebraska, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut and Yukon Territories and 21 in Mississippi.who are at least 18 or 19 (Alabama, Nebraska; British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut and Yukon Territories) or 21 (Mississippi) years of age at the time of entry. things to consider
  • Take inspiration from the film's social accounts, trailers, and the film’s themes. Please note, the imagery is for inspiration only and should not be used in submissions directly.
  • Artwork should be able to be used both as a standalone graphic or specifically as a snarky Valentine’s Day card.
  • You could use digital illustration or typography to create your designs, interpreting the film's themes and imagery in your own visual style.
  • Check out this mood board for sarcastic Valentine’s Day card style inspiration. Please note the imagery on the cards should still be inspired by the film.
  • Creators may depict the likenesses of the characters in DOWNHILL and include the title treatment logo in their submission if they wish.

creative brief guidelines
  • Who is eligible: the Creative Brief is open only to individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years of age and the age of majority in their jurisdiction of primary residence and who are legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia or Canada (excluding Quebec) at the time of submission. The age of majority is 19 in Alabama, Nebraska; British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut and Yukon Territories and 21 in Mississippi.
  • How to submit: Click on the ‘Participate’ tab and follow the instructions. Your work must be submitted in JPEG or PNG, max. size 10 MB. Please retain your original layered AI or PSD files in the highest quality possible. Only static digital work. Please, no photography or video. If you are selected you will have to supply the original layered artwork files to your work.
  • If you are Selected, you will have to supply your artwork as a layered artwork file in AI or PSD (high-res, CMYK and 300dpi minimum).
  • Multiple submissions (up to 10) per Creator. Creator teams are not allowed.
  • Submissions will not be visible to the public until after the announcement.
  • Please note, that during the Submission Period, your submission may be featured on DOWNHILL's social media channels with credit given to the Creator.
  • Creators may depict the likenesses of the characters in DOWNHILL and include the title treatment logo in their submission if they wish. Creators acknowledge and agree that all intellectual property rights embodied in any content or materials provided by or on behalf of Fox Searchlight Pictures (Searchlight), including without limitation, any elements from the Picture and all derivatives thereof (“Searchlight IP”) are the sole and exclusive property of Searchlight and Creators will not obtain or assert any rights or interests of any kind whatsoever in the Searchlight IP, except as expressly set forth in the Official Rules (found below).
  • The Disney Terms of Use will govern all submissions.
  • All submissions must be original artwork (meaning not using third party pre-existing copyright and/or stock materials). The requirements to be an eligible submission can be found in the Official Rules (found below).
  • If you are a Selected Creator, you will be required to assign all rights, title, and interest in and to the selected work to Searchlight for the specified prizes. Upon selection, you will be required to sign the Creator Assignment and Indemnification Agreement and the Awardee Agreement. Please note that submissions can be only used by you for personal, non-commercial, and portfolio use.
  • Selected Creators may be asked to modify their design to fit production requirements. This may be up to 2 rounds of minor edits.
  • Except as necessary for Creators to submit their works to this Creative Brief, Creators may not make any further use of their works, including without limitation, selling, licensing or otherwise exploiting such works.
  • Creators must join Talenthouse using an active email address in order to ensure they can be contacted should they be selected.
  • During the selection period, Talenthouse will reach out to those being shortlisted. You must respond to Talenthouse within forty-eight (48) hours or else you will forfeit all prizes. For the verification, you will be asked to provide the original files of your work and a scan of your ID and proof of residency.
  • Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief, or comply with the guidelines or Official Rules (see below).
  • No purchase necessary to enter or be selected.

how talenthouse will choose
The Talenthouse judging panel will select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.

The judging criteria are based on: Creativity (25%), Originality (25%) and Overall Understanding of the Film Themes (50%).
