Create travel posters inspired by 'IT Chapter Two' and 'Come Back to Derry, Maine'

Every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine. IT Chapter Two brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.

To amplify the September 2019 launch of IT Chapter Two, New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures are creating an art activation campaign leading up to this film's release, and they want to collaborate with you!

To bring this aspect of the upcoming film to life, artists, designers, and illustrators are invited to create static and animated “Come Back to Derry, Maine” travel poster artwork inspired by the IT Chapter Two trailer, key imagery, and the most recent trailer for the film. Artists are encouraged, but not required, to create two versions of travel poster encouraging visits to Derry, Maine; one in the daytime and one in the nighttime to show how sinister the town can get at night.

Whether it's an illustration, a digital painting, a moving image, or even an alternative travel poster design, the judges are looking for captivating and imaginative artwork to help drive promotion and excitement socially across the film's marketing and digital channels.

Artwork will potentially be featured across the film's marketing campaign, including social accounts, print materials, and merchandise. Ten pieces of art will be selected by New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures, and the Selected Artists will receive $1,500 for each piece selected. Approximately five of the ten pieces will be daytime and five will be nighttime. Daytime and nighttime versions of the same artwork may be selected in which case, the Selected Artist will receive two (2) incentives.

Tap into Derry as a character – a mythic place where a wholesome sense of Americana masks a core of evil. The further away from Derry, the less one remembers – but back in its dark embrace, the memories come flooding back.

Evil resurfaces in Derry as director Andy Muschietti reunites the Losers Club—young and adult—in a return to where it all began with “IT Chapter Two.”

The film is Muschietti’s follow-up to 2017’s critically acclaimed and massive worldwide box office hit IT. Both redefining and transcending the genre, IT became part of the cultural zeitgeist as well as the highest-grossing horror film of all time. Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty, Mama) stars as Beverly, James McAvoy (Split, Glass) as Bill, Bill Hader (HBO’s Barry, The Skeleton Twins) as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa (TV’s Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments) as Mike, Jay Ryan (TV’s Mary Kills People) as Ben, James Ransone (HBO’s The Wire) as Eddie, and Andy Bean (Allegiant, Starz’ Power) as Stanley. Reprising their roles as the original members of the Losers Club are Jaeden Martell as Bill, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley, Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Sophia Lillis as Beverly, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, and Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben. Bill Skarsgård returns in the seminal role of Pennywise.

  • Potentially have their artwork featured in IT Chapter Two's marketing campaign leading up to the release of the film
  • Potentially receive exposure for their work across IT Chapter Two's digital and marketing channels including print materials and merchandise
  • Potentially receive exposure from Warner Bros. Pictures’ exhibitor partners to promote IT Chapter Two
  • Potentially have your work reproduced as a mural installation

  • This opportunity is open globally (except for Brazil and for countries in which the United States has embargoed goods (including without limitation, Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria)) to those who are at least 18 years of age and the age of majority at the time of entry. Void where prohibited by law.
  • Multiple submissions (up to 10) and artist teams are allowed.
  • Please note, that during the Submission Period, submissions may be featured on IT Chapter Two's social media channels with credit given to the artist.
  • Artists should retain their original artwork files but designs must be submitted in JPEG, PNG, or GIF max size 10MB.
  • All submissions must be original artwork (meaning not using third party pre-existing copyright and/or stock materials). Please, no photography or video.
  • Artists may depict the likenesses of the characters in IT Chapter Two and may include the IT Chapter Two title treatment logo in their artwork. All rights in and to the characters and title treatment logo are reserved by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema.
  • Any font used in the art must be a monotype font or hand drawn.
  • Selected Artists are not eligible to receive incentives until they’ve submitted a completed and Warner Bros. Pictures approved Creative Asset Data (CAD) Sheet upon being selected as a Selected Artist.
  • The Selected Artists may be asked to modify their design to fit production requirements.
  • All entrants, whether Selected Artists or not, hereby acknowledge and agree that IT Chapter Two intellectual property, and all intellectual property rights embodied therein, and all derivative rights thereof including the embodiment of that IT Chapter Two (collectively, “IT Chapter Two IP”) is the sole and exclusive property of Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema and/or their licensors, as applicable, and all entrants, whether Selected Artists, or not shall not obtain any right or interest of any kind whatsoever in IT Chapter Two IP.
  • Selected Artists (defined in Official Rules) grant Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema, and its licensees and assigns, a worldwide, exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use their submitted work in connection with the promotion and distribution of IT Chapter Two in all media, now known or hereafter devised. Selected Artists will be required to sign a license agreement.
  • All artists, whether Selected Artists or not, retain ownership only in the original portions of in their work that do not contain or are not derivative of IT Chapter Two IP excluding artists who have signed a license agreement. However, by submitting you hereby grant to Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema and their licensees and assigns, a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license for three (3) years to use your submitted work across their various online and social marketing platforms in association with the film IT Chapter Two. All artists will be credited accordingly.
  • Any ownership in the work is subject to and restricted by Warner Bros. Pictures’ and New Line Cinema's underlying rights in the IT Chapter Two IP and entrants may make only personal use (e.g. portfolio purposes) of the submissions without express written consent from Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema; in no event, may an entrant obtain a fee, royalty, advertising revenue, or any other payment in exchange for the submission, other than those Selected Artists who receive an incentive from Sponsor.
  • Artists must join Talenthouse using an active email address in order to ensure they can be contacted should they be selected.
  • Selected Artists must respond to Talenthouse within two days of receiving the notification email or else will forfeit all incentives.
  • Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief and follow the guidelines or Official Rules.
