All Aboard: Calling all artists to create digitally illustrated static artwork and posters inspired by Disney’s Jungle Cruise movie!
Attention illustrators, we need all hands on deck! Join Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt for the adventure of a lifetime with Disney’s Jungle Cruise coming to theaters and Disney+ with Premier Access July 30!
To amplify the dual release of the movie, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (“Disney”) is inviting artists to create one-of-a-kind digitally illustrated posters inspired by the adventures and excitement of the movie.
The judges are looking for captivating, inspired imagery that showcases your unique art style and conveys the epic scope of the movie. Think wild rides, suspenseful chases, and amazing creatures that make the movie come to life! Artists are encouraged to check out the trailer, poster, YouTube playlist, and imagery from the movie to get inspiration for their works.
Ten (10) pieces of art will be selected by Disney as the Selected Creators. Each will receive $2,000.
Your submission should be inspired by these key themes and characters:
Characters:
Skipper Frank Wolff as played by Dwayne Johnson
Researcher Dr. Lily Houghton as played by Emily Blunt
The river boat “La Quila” as represented in Disney's Jungle Cruise movie
Themes:
An adventure for all ages that combines comedy, action and mythical elements
Highlight Dwayne and Emily’s fun banter, comedy and chemistry
Showcase the expansive setting of the Amazon jungle and the potential adventures that await in such an immersive environment
Highlight the ‘dangers of the jungle,’ while not taking those dangers too seriously. Depictions should feel “foreboding” yet part of the adventure!
Poster Ideas: Here are a few ideas to get you started! Feel free to get creative beyond these points, the judges want to see uniquely inspired and imaginative works!
A modern interpretation of the existing marketing materials that elevates the movie
In-world creative, such as a map of the jungle or a brochure for Frank’s river boat
An interactive poster with a maze/adventure component
Always showcase Frank and Lily as a duo, an unbeatable pair, two unlikely heroes
Please submit your artwork according to the following specifications:
Landscape or portrait, digitally created as layered AI (Adobe Illustrator) or PSD (Photoshop document) files, minimum 120 dpi, RGB colors.
Submissions should be in jpeg format.
While we prefer vertical posters, we do not want to limit your creativity if you have a great landscape/horizontal idea.
Disney encourages you to submit “traceline drawings” of your works and/or timelapse videos of your creative process along with your submission to share on social media!
Your artwork should appeal to domestic US audiences of all ages.
