THE BRIEF
Irish whiskey brand Tullamore D.E.W. are continuing their 'The Beauty of Blend’ campaign into 2018, where they are focusing on the 'Triple Blend' messaging. If you want a whiskey of exceptional character, you need an exceptional process. Tullamore D.E.W’s Triple Blend process refers to how this whiskey is crafted, by blending three different types of Irish whiskey together – full flavoured Single Malt, rich Pot Still and Golden Grain. This Triple Blend process creates a whiskey of greater complexity and distinct Irish true character, part of what makes Tullamore D.E.W. truly special.

Tullamore D.E.W. invite artists from around the world to create multi-media artwork that visually captures the ‘Triple Blend’ process, help people recognise and understand the distinctive recipe, complex Irish character, and represent the brand and it’s heritage in a totally original and creative way.

There are no limits to your creativity. It is all about bringing to life the 'Triple Blend' message alongside the unique flavours that the whiskey is known for. Feel free to represent these as creatively as you would like. Whether you are bringing to life the flavour of the whiskey, the different types of ingredients, or representing the process of making the iconic drink - anything goes, but remember always relate it back to the 'Triple Blend' process.

Submissions can be graphic design, illustration, animated GIFs, short videos or any kind of animated artwork (max. 15 seconds).

Artists are encouraged to read the 'Submission Guidelines' and 'About Triple Blend’ sections, watch the campaign videos, check out this mood board for inspiration, and download this Asset Pack with logos and bottle assets. Feel free to interpret and get creative with all of the assets provided or with completely new and fresh ideas.

One (1) Selected Artist, will have their work potentially used across Tullamore D.E.W.'s social media and digital channels, PR, experiential and featured in a creative publication of their choice, and receive €4,000. There is even the potential for the selected artwork to feature as the key visual for the whole ’The Beauty of Blend’ campaign. One (1) Highly Commended Artist will have their work potentially featured across Tullamore D.E.W.'s social media and digital channels, and receive €2,000.
Your submission
Think about the following when working on your submissions:
  • Express Tullamore D.E.W.'s 'Triple Blend’ ingredients and process, by helping people recognise and understand the distinctive recipe.
  • You should include reference to all three whiskeys that make up Tullamore D.E.W.'s through its Triple Blend ingredients (you may reference these visually, text is not mandatory) :
    • Single Malt
    • Rich Pot Still
    • Golden Grain
  • You may capture the flavour notes, character and smoothness of the whiskey (Single Malt, Pot Still and Golden Grain) or even depict the materials used in the process of creating the whiskey (copper, oak, etc) - let your creativity roam.
  • Represent the brand and it’s heritage in a totally original and creative way.
  • Artwork may include a representation of the Tullamore D.E.W. bottle - this can be a photo of the bottle or a visual representation (illustration, graphic design of it). This isn’t a mandatory, but you may do this if you wish. Feel free to interpret and get creative with all of the assets provided in the Asset Pack.
  • Please consider the colour palette of Tullamore D.E.W. when working on your submissions (colour palette can be found in the Asset Pack).
  • Capture that this spirit is the perfect whiskey to accompany the social moment with its unique balance of character, flavour and smoothness.
  • Help people recognise and understand the distinctive recipe, complex Irish character.
  • Submit artwork in either graphic design, illustration, animated GIFs, short videos or any kind of animated artwork (max. 15 seconds). Photography should be avoided.
  • Please only participate if you are at least 21 years old
  • Take a look at this mood board for inspiration.
  • Artwork should be accompanied by a small written caption in English explaining the inspiration and design. This information should be included in the 'description' field of your submission.
  • Keep in mind that these visuals may be used to capture the essence of ‘Triple Blend’ in a wider campaign.
UPDATE: Tullamore D.E.W. has provided the fonts and texture files for download.

Submissions should not:
  • Designs shouldn't include photography.
  • Creative shouldn't include images of people.
  • Designs must not include or allude to alcohol drinking scenarios or dangerous situations.

ABOUT 'TRIPLE BLEND'
Tullamore D.E.W. is a triple distilled, triple blend of all three types of Irish whiskey – Single Malt, Golden Grain and Pot Still whiskey. More information on the three types of whiskey in Tullamore D.E.W.:
  • Single Malt: A single malt comes from a single distillery and is made up of a mash bill of 100% malted barley, distilled in copper pot stills, adding sweetness to the blend.
  • Golden Grain: using a variety of grain types, and the continuous column still first invented by Irishman Aeneas Coffey, it adds softness to the whiskey.
  • Pot Still: Unique to Ireland, it is a mix of malt and unmalted barley that is then batch distilled and is known for its uniquely rich, oily and spicy notes.
Submissions should help people recognise and understand Tullamore D.E.W.'s distinctive Triple Blend process, and communicate the unique product benefit; Tullamore D.E.W. is a whiskey of greater complexity and Irish True character.

THE CAREER OPPORTUNITY

One (1) Selected Artist will:
  • Have their work potentially used across Tullamore D.E.W.'s social media and digital channels, PR, experiential, in-store material and within a creative publication of their choice
  • Have their work potentially used as the key visual for the whole 'Power of Three' campaign
  • Receive €4,000

One (1) Highly Commended Artist will:
  • Have their work potentially featured across Tullamore D.E.W.'s social media and digital channels, PR and in-store materials.
  • Receive €2,000
CREATIVE INVITE GUIDELINES
  • This opportunity is open globally to those who are at least 21 years of age at the time of entry. Void where prohibited by law.
  • Multiple submissions (up to 10) and artist teams are allowed.
  • Please note, that during the Submission Period, submissions may be featured on Tullamore D.E.W's social media channels with credit given to the artist.
  • All submissions must be original artwork (meaning not using stock material or third party pre-existing copyright materials except for the material provided by Tullamore D.E.W.) but can be pre-existing or created especially for this opportunity. All rights in and to the material provided is reserved by Tullamore D.E.W.
  • Submissions should not use photography.
  • Please read the 'Your Submission' and 'About Triple Blend' sections carefully.
  • If submitting an animated GIF or video (max. 15 seconds) this should be uploaded as an mp4 via the “Participate” tab to the Talenthouse player. Artists should retain their original high-res artwork files but static design work must be submitted in JPEG or PNG, max. size 10MB. If your work is selected you will have to provide a high-res version of your submitted work. Selected Artists may be asked to generate static imagery from their animated or video work.
  • All three (3) 'Triple Blend' types of whiskey should be referenced in a submission. The 'Triple Blend' consists of Single Malt, Golden Grain and Pot Still whiskey.
  • Artists that are not selected will retain ownership of their work, however Tullamore D.E.W. has marketing rights to promote the work on their social media and online channels with reference to the Creative Invite from uploading the work, up to three (3) months after announcement of the Selected Artists. All artists will be credited accordingly.
  • For the incentives set forth above, the Selected Artist and Highly Commended Artist will be required to assign the full copyright of their work to Tullamore D.E.W.
  • The Selected and the Highly Commended Artist may be required to make up to two (2) rounds of edits on their work.
  • Artists must join Talenthouse using an active email address in order to ensure they can be contacted should they be selected.
  • The Selected Artist and and the Highly Commended Artist must respond to Talenthouse within two (2) days of receiving the notification email or else will forfeit all incentives.
  • Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief, these guidelines or Official Rules.
  • No purchase necessary to enter.
HOW TULLAMORE D.E.W WILL CHOOSE
Tullamore D.E.W. will select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.
