To amplify the launch of new film Joker, Warner Bros. Pictures wants to collaborate with you for an exciting art activation!

Director Todd Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) is of a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. A clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night… but finds the joke always seems to be on him. Caught in a cyclical existence between apathy and cruelty, Arthur makes one bad decision that brings about a chain reaction of escalating events in this gritty character study.

Create one-of-a-kind static artwork for Joker inspired by the latest imagery and trailer from the film. Warner Bros. would also love for you to record and submit time-lapse videos of you creating your work, so Joker fans can watch you bring your work to life!

Whether it's an illustration, a digital painting, time-lapse video, or even an alternative poster design, the judges are looking for captivating and imaginative artwork to help drive promotion and excitement socially across the film's marketing and digital channels. Artists may download the Asset Pack for inspiration and visual reference of the characters featured in the film.

Artwork will potentially be featured across the film's marketing campaign, including social accounts, print materials, murals, and merchandise. 5 pieces of art will be selected by Warner Bros. Pictures and the Selected Creators will receive $2,000 for each piece selected. 1 time-lapse video will be selected by Warner Bros. Pictures and the Selected Creator will receive $1,000. The same piece can be selected for both the static and time-lapse incentives.

about joker

Director Todd Phillips' Joker centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone fictional story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck, who is indelibly portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix, is of a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. A clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night…but finds the joke always seems to be on him. Caught in a cyclical existence between apathy and cruelty, Arthur makes one bad decision that brings about a chain reaction of escalating events in this gritty character study.

Three-time Oscar nominee Phoenix (The Master, Walk the Line, Gladiator) stars in the titular role alongside Oscar winner Robert De Niro (Raging Bull, The Godfather: Part II) as Franklin. The film also stars Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Frances Conroy (TV’s American Horror Story, Hulu’s Castle Rock), Marc Maron (TV’s Maron, GLOW), Bill Camp (Red Sparrow, Molly’s Game), Glenn Fleshler (TV’s Billions, Barry), Shea Whigham (First Man, Kong: Skull Island), Brett Cullen (42, Netflix’s Narcos), Douglas Hodge (Red Sparrow, TV’s Penny Dreadful) and Josh Pais (upcoming Motherless Brooklyn, Going in Style).
