Create original horror artwork inspired by The Grudge (2020)

Creator Selection On
December 20, 2019

To amplify the launch of new film The Grudge, Sony Pictures wants to collaborate with you for an exciting art activation!

Create one-of-a-kind artwork for The Grudge inspired by the latest imagery and trailer from the upcoming film.

You may use the images throughout this brief for inspiration and visual reference of the characters featured in the film. While the images in the asset pack cannot be used directly in the work, you can include the title treatment in your piece. Artwork will potentially be featured across the film's marketing campaign, including social accounts, print materials, murals, and merchandise.

5 pieces of artwork will be selected and receive $2,000 each. The judges are looking for an alternative poster design that is captivating, horrifying, and imaginative.

things to consider
  • When someone dies in the grip of rage, a curse is born and a vengeful ghost dooms all who enter its realm. Once you enter the house, it will never let you go.
  • Consider including images of the cursed house, ghost with her hair covering her face, fingers running through hair, or a bathtub or shower setting in your poster design.
  • Avoid overly-graphic depictions of gore. While there is violence in the film, the art for it should be more suspenseful, unsettling, and creepy in tone rather than violent and disturbing.
  • Title treatment can be downloaded here and used directly in your pieces.
  • Asset pack imagery can be downloaded here but only used as a reference and not directly in your pieces.
