Creators Selected On
May 15, 2019

Season two of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is coming to Freeform on Thursday, April 4, 2019! This season turns the heat up on our young heroes as Tyrone and Tandy try to find their place as more active heroes in this world. As they learn and grow emotionally, so will their skills. We jump back into the lives of the title characters, Tandy Bowen/Dagger and Tyrone Johnson/Cloak as they use their superpowers together.

To celebrate the season two premiere of the show artists, designers and illustrators from the U.S.* are invited to join this new world by creating one-of-a-kind static artwork** for Marvel's Cloak & Dagger.

Watch the promos below and check out the series' Facebook, Instagram, and photo assets for inspiration. Feel free to take inspiration from the characters, universe, locations and anything else you feel represents this series! The client wants to make sure that the art is based on the show and not the original comics. Art can be inspired by Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, the show, in general, as well as seasons 1 and 2 of the show.

Four (4) pieces of artwork will be selected and may potentially be used in Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger marketing campaign. The Selected Artists will receive $2,000 for each piece selected.

*Please note, this Creative Invite is open only to individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years of age and the age of majority in their jurisdiction of primary residence and who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia at the time of submission. The age of majority is 19 in Alabama and Nebraska; 21 in Mississippi.

**All submissions will be deemed to be “works made for hire” for Freeform or, in the event and to the extent that any such submissions are determined not to constitute “works made for hire”, that Artists submitting such work irrevocably assign and transfer all right, title and interest in and to such submissions, including without limitation, all patents and copyrights, to Freeform. In addition, each Artist hereby waives their “moral rights” in any works.
about marvel's cloak & dagger

Critically acclaimed series “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph)—two teenagers from very different backgrounds who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers, which are mysteriously linked to one another. The only constants in their lives are danger and each other. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to control the power of darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart.

Premiering on THURSDAY, APRIL 4, at 8:00 pm EST/PST with a two-hour episode, season two turns the heat up on our young heroes as Tyrone and Tandy try to find their place as more active heroes in this world. As they learn and grow emotionally, so will their skills. In season one, we saw Tandy and Ty dip their toes into the world of hopes and fears; this season, they will dive deeper into this metaphysical pool. Get ready for some chaos and some mayhem. With enhanced powers and a decision to make about the type of heroes they want to be, they make the choice to run into the danger, head first. They tackle a heartless vigilante and uncover an evil that’s been preying on the young women of the city, as the show takes on more serious topics like gang violence and human trafficking.
