A NOTE FROM THE HOST ABOUT THE SELECTIONS

“We asked you to create some edgy and bold creative expressions of our brand and you delivered. We have chosen artists which achieved this while keeping our logo, bottle and brand colours central to the idea. As this content will be used in new markets where Naked is not currently sold this combination was critical to build awareness of our key distinctive assets.” - PepsiCo Naked team

A discovery brand with a weird and wonderful story at its heart, Naked was started in Santa Monica, California in 1983 by a nude sunbathing hippie with a love for squeezed juice. Inside the bottle of Naked you will find an arsenal of super cool and trendy ingredients. Their smoothies and juices are rich in vitamins, high on anti-oxidants and have no added sugar. Naked is all about natural and raw ingredients that give you super energy, add refreshment and positivity and, ultimately, empower everyone to be creative and live life to its fullest!

Naked are inviting artists from around the world to create artworks that ‘remix’ the Naked bottle/product or the different juice or smoothie flavors in the style of fresh pop-art visuals or other edgy and bold creative expressions. The artwork should capture the three themes outlined below, and may include the logo, the bottle or actively use brand colors (dark blue, dark green, white), but may also showcase the ingredients and colors of the different flavors in new and creative ways.

Creators may draw on different creative styles including graphic design, illustration, street art, graffiti, collage, photography, painting, screen-printing or moving image assets in the form of animated GIFs, cinemagraphs or short videos (up to 15”).

The artwork will be showcased across Naked social channels, digital, in-store and potentially at Naked events across spring and summer 2018. Naked are looking for artistic, thumb-stopping visuals that capture three key themes/brand pillars:

  • The ingredients of each flavor
  • Powerful boost of energy and urban dynamism of modern life
  • The feeling of positivity and summer

An artist incentive pool of €20,000 will be made available for this brief. Moving image pieces that are selected will receive €2,000 per piece, and static designs will receive €1,500 per piece. In addition to these incentives, other submissions may be posted on the client’s social channels with artists given credit and receiving exposure from the PepsiCo and Naked social channels.

When creating your artwork, please consider the following:
  • Multiple submissions (up to 10) and artist teams are allowed.
  • Before working on your submission please look at the mood board for inspiration.
  • Remember that your artwork should capture one of the three themes/brand pillars:
    • The ingredients of each flavor
    • Powerful boost of energy and urban dynamism of modern life
    • The feeling of positivity and summer (the designs will be actively used during spring-summer 2018)
  • You may recreate the product or ingredients in your own style (illustration, graffiti art, graphics, etc.), ‘remix’ the photos of the bottles or flavors, or bring to life the feeling of strength, energy and edgy vibe that Naked brings people. You may take inspiration from the 5 flavor ingredients, colors (pantone references in Asset Pack), tastes and even the bottle silhouettes. You can use the logo or high-res photos of the 5 key flavors provided as a starting point for your own art interpretation, but you may also create illustrations/graphic visuals of the product.   • Your artwork may include the product (the high-res files can be found in the Asset Pack) or highlight one of the five flavours & its colors:
    • Blue Machine - Blueberry & Blackberry
    • Green Machine - Apple, Kiwi and Pineapple
    • Mango Machine - Mango & Orange
    • Red Machine - Raspberry, Strawberry and Cranberry
    • Tropical Punch - Tropical with soy protein

  • Naked is looking for new, fresh and progressive art styles that will make people stop when they see the artwork. Please let your own unique style shine through, and be creative!
  • Naked is looking for work that appeals to 18-35 year old people - urban trendsetters or the so-called 'dynamic doers' who incorporate fashion, sports and health consciousness into their everyday life.

Naked has a weird and wonderful story at its heart. But a powerful and delicious smoothie in its bottle.

The Naked Juice story began in 1983 with a young man named Jimmy. Carried in a backpack full of ice, he sold his bottled juice ups and down the beach, towel-by-towel. Sourcing his fruit straight from the produce market, he spent countless hours getting the recipes just right, with the mantra, ‘the freshest, most nutritious juices possible’. For the last 33 years, Naked has believed that juice should be as delightful as it is nourishing. The first juice was pressed in the kitchen of Jimmy’s mom, sold to earn money for his band. Today, Naked continue this tradition with new ranges, modern ingredients, and fresh formats. Naked smoothies are packed with flavour and goodness, keeping you going throughout the day.

A number of Selected Artists, as chosen by the Naked brand marketing team, will each:
  • Potentially have their work featured across Naked’s social media channels, in-store, online, in out of home advertising.
  • An artist incentive pool of €20,000 will be made available for this brief. Moving Image assets that are selected will receive €2,000 per piece, and static artwork will receive €1,500 per piece. In addition to these incentives, other submissions may be posted on the client’s social channels throughout the campaign with artists given credit and receiving exposure from Naked's community.

  • This opportunity is open globally to those who are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. Void where prohibited by law.
  • Multiple submissions (up to 10) and artist teams are allowed.
  • Please note, that Naked may share submissions across their various marketing platforms during the submission period and after, with credit given to the artist.
  • All submissions must be original artwork, meaning not using third party pre-existing copyright materials or stock imagery, except for the Asset Pack provided by Naked, but can be pre-existing or created especially for this opportunity. All rights in and to the material provided in the Asset Pack is reserved by Naked.
  • Please read the "THINGS TO CONSIDER" section above carefully.
  • Artists should retain their original files in the highest quality possible. Images must be submitted via the "Participate tab" in JPEG or PNG, max size 10MB. GIFs and videos should have a max length of 15 seconds and should be uploaded as an mp4 via the “Participate” tab to the Talenthouse player.
  • The Selected Artists may be asked to modify their design to fit production requirements.
  • Selected Artists will be required to sign a copyright agreement which assigns ownership of their work to PepsiCo and Naked for global usage in exchange for the incentives set forth above.
  • Artists not selected retain ownership in their work. However, by submitting you hereby grant to PepsiCo and Naked a worldwide, non-exclusive, limited, royalty-free license for six months to use your submitted work across their various marketing platforms. All artists will be credited accordingly. Please note, that during the Submission Period, submissions may be featured on Naked's social media channels with credit given to the artist.
  • Artists must join Talenthouse using an active email address in order to ensure they can be contacted should they be selected.
  • The Selected Artists must respond to Talenthouse within two (2) days of receiving the notification email or else will forfeit all incentives.
  • Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief, guidelines or Official Rules.
  • No purchase necessary to enter.

The Naked brand marketing team will select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.
