Attention all artists! Time to make your “Nesterpiece"!

Nest is on a mission to make simple, human, delightful smart home products that everyone can enjoy. That’s how they’re creating the thoughtful home: A home that takes care of the people inside it and the world around it.

Artists from around the world are invited to submit original illustrations and designs over photographs capturing at least one of Nest’s many products at work! Let your creativity run wild and catch these Nest products in their 'natural' habitats through unique designs over photographs!

Please reference this mood board and the Nest social media channels to get a feel for the brand’s identity. If you are without access to Nest products, feel free to use this group of images to photoshop/edit or design them into your photographs to make them fit the brief. The household photographs you design over can be taken on professional cameras or from your smart phone. As always, we encourage creativity - specifically, we want you to reference a recent Talenthouse Flash Creative Invite which showcases graphic design over photography.

Up to four selected pieces of artwork may be featured in Nest’s upcoming marketing campaigns. The Selected Artists will receive $1,250 for each piece selected.
submission requirements
Before creating your submission, please read the following requirements:
  • Artists should submit work which fits into one of the below categories. At least one Nest product must be shown:
    • Artwork over photography with the product designed into the photography. Please make sure to reference the provided imagery for accuracy.
  • Artists should not submit only photography.
  • Artwork should capture the Nest product in its natural habitat and may come in the form of illustration over the official photography provided above, photoshopping the product into your own original ‘habitats’ (graphic design, illustration, etc.) or some other visual representation as long as the product is at the core of the artwork.
  • Artists are encouraged to reference this mood board and Nest social media channels to get a feel for the brand’s identity and color palette.

    Up to four pieces of artwork will be selected. The Selected Artists, as chosen by Nest, will each:

    • Potentially have their work featured in Nest’s upcoming marketing campaigns
    • Potentially have their work featured across Nest’s social media channels
    • Receive $1,250 for each piece selected

    • This opportunity is open globally to those who are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. Void where prohibited by law.
    • Please note, that during the Submission Period, submissions may be featured on Nest's social media channels with credit given to the artist.
    • Multiple submissions (up to 10) and artist teams are allowed.
    • All submissions must be original artwork (meaning not using third party pre-existing copyright materials and stock images). Artists may use the material provided. All rights in and to the material provided are reserved by Nest.
    • Please read the "SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS" section above carefully.
    • At least one Nest product must be used in the imagery. Artists are encouraged to make artwork for only the products listed in the "SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS" section.
    • Artists should retain their original artwork files in the highest quality possible. Designs must be submitted in JPEG or PNG, max size 10MB.
    • Selected Artists may be asked to modify their work to fit production requirements.
    • Selected Artists will be required to sign a copyright agreement which assigns ownership of their work to Nest for global usage in exchange for the incentives set forth above.
    • Artists that are not selected will retain ownership of their work. However, Nest has the right to promote their work on their channels for up to three months in connection with this Creative Invite. All artists will be credited accordingly.
    • Please note that submissions can be used for personal, non-commercial and portfolio use only.
    • Artists must join Talenthouse using an active email address in order to ensure they can be contacted should they be selected.
    • The Selected Artists must respond to Talenthouse within two days of receiving the notification email or else will forfeit all incentives.
    • Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief, guidelines or Official Rules.

    Nest will select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.
