Heineken invites artists from around the world to create 'cool' visuals that express your interpretation of Heineken's campaign line ‘Open Your World’, and capture how Heineken plays/can play a role to 'Open Your World'. Heineken believes there is always a more refreshing way to fully experience what the world has to offer!

Heineken are looking for surprising, fresh, unique and engaging key visual artwork which expresses the Heineken brand values. So, let your imagination take over!

Artists may submit illustration, graphic design, GIF, cinemagraph or animated video (max. 15 sec). Whatever format you use, it should be square and suitable for digital use. Before submitting your work, please read the 'The Brief' section, and take a look at the mood board for inspiration.

This is your opportunity to have your work showcased across Heineken's social channels and potentially be part of the 2018 brand campaign. An artist incentive pool of €13,000 is made available. Moving image pieces that are selected will receive €2,000 per piece, and static designs €1,500 per piece. In addition to these incentives, other submissions may be posted on the client’s media channels with artists given credit and receiving exposure from the Heineken channels.

The Brief
  • Artwork should follow a certain 'recipe' as outlined below:
    • Include the campaign lock up 'Open Your World' prominently in the creative as a 'title'.
    • Include the Heineken product (bottle or glass) - this can be either an illustration/graphic/painting of the bottle or using the supplied photo assets found in the Asset Pack.
    • Include the Heineken logo, in either full or outline version (ideally in bottom right corner if possible).
    • Please allow space for an 'enjoy responsibly' message to be added to your artwork if it is selected.
    • Use the Heineken colour palette. Green should be the dominant colour (either as full colour, gradient or a pattern), and white, silver/grey and red may be used as accent colours.
    • All assets for the above 'recipe points' can be found in the Asset Pack.


  • Artwork should be square and a size suitable for social media use.
  • Be either illustration, graphic design, GIF, cinemagraph or animation (max. 15 sec), and may include photographic elements.
When creating your artwork, please consider the following:
  • Create ‘cool visuals’ (with or without animation) that expresses your interpretation of 'open your world', and how Heineken plays/or can play a role to ‘Open Your World’.
  • Heineken are looking for cool, fresh, unique and engaging artwork that incorporates their brand values: open, cool, progressive, worldly, refreshing, accessibly, enjoyment, witty, premium, authentic.
  • When creating your artwork, ask yourself, what does 'Open Your World' mean to you?
  • Take a look at the mood board for inspiration on style.
  • You are encouraged to share your submission on Heineken's social media channels, tagging @Heineken and using the hashtags #Heineken and #openyourworld.

The Career Opportunity

Selected Artists, as chosen by Heineken, will:

  • Potentially have their work showcased across the social media channels of Heineken.
  • Potentially have their work used as part of the global marketing campaign for 'Open Your World'.
  • Heineken provides a total artist incentive pool of €13,000 for this brief. Moving image pieces that are selected will receive €2,000 per piece, and stills will receive €1,500 per piece.
Creative Invite Guidelines
  • This opportunity is open globally to those who are at least 21 years of age at the time of entry. Void where prohibited by law.
  • Limit ten (10) submissions per artist. Artist teams are allowed.
  • All submissions must be original artwork (meaning not using third party pre-existing copyright materials or materials purchased from stock libraries, except for the material provided by Heineken).
  • Please read ‘The Brief' section carefully and take into account the assets provided in the Asset Pack. All rights in and to the material provided is reserved by Heineken.
  • Artwork must not include or allude to alcohol drinking in a dangerous scenario (i.e. in connection with cars, swimming, etc.) depiction of violence, nudism or material that may be considered offensive.
  • Artists should retain their original files in the highest quality possible. Images must be submitted via the "Participate tab" in JPEG or PNG, max size 10MB. GIFs, cinemagraphs or animated videos (max. 15 sec) should be uploaded as an mp4 via the “Participate” tab to the Talenthouse player.
  • If any persons appear or are referred to in the submission, they must look over 25 years of age. The artist is solely responsible for obtaining, prior to submitting, all necessary usage rights and permissions for the contents of their submission. Proof will be required if selected.
  • Please note, that during the Submission Period, submissions may be featured on Heineken's social media channels with credit given to the artist.
  • Artists that are not selected will retain ownership of their work, however Heineken has marketing rights to promote the work on their social media and online channels with reference to this Creative Invite for up to three (3) months after announcement of the Selected Artists. All artists will be credited accordingly.
  • Selected Artists will have to sign a Release Form which assigns full ownership of their work to Heineken for global usage. Selected Works can still be used for artist's own portfolio purposes.
  • Selected Artists may be required to make up to two (2) rounds of amends to their work to fit requirements.
  • Artists must join Talenthouse using an active email address in order to ensure they can be contacted should they be selected.
  • Selected Artists must respond to Talenthouse within two (2) days of receiving the notification email or else will forfeit all incentives.
  • Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief, guidelines or Official Rules.
  • No purchase necessary to enter.
How Heineken Will Choose
Heineken will select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions and Official Rules.
