INTRODUCTION

British-Ghanaian singer, rapper and songwriter, Bree Runway, invites global creators to produce original artwork (static & moving) that brings her image and personality to life. Bree’s visual universe is all about hyper-realism and costume - we want the artwork to encapsulate her vibrant, fashion-forward, colourful, body positive and exaggerated aesthetic.

3 artworks (static or moving) will be chosen, with 1 x Selected Creator receiving £1000 and 2 x Finalists receiving £500 each for their artworks.

Additionally, Universal Music will choose a further 10x artworks to showcase across Bree Runway’s social channels for up to 6-months. All creators will be credited.


ABOUT BREE RUNWAY
Bree Runway is the glamorous, gangsta, hot girl of pop music who is unashamedly herself. With her alternative image and sound, she is on a mission to uplift young black girls and women. Her lyrics reflect her experience growing up as a dark skin girl in East London and her confident, ‘destructive pop’ sound leaves a lasting impression. Bree Runway made her solo debut with the self-released EPs titled RNWY 01 and Bouji being released in November 2015 and May 2016 respectively. In 2018 Bree was signed to EMI records and in March 2020, Bree Runway released the single "Apeshit" which was met with critical acclaim and drew immediate comparisons to Missy Elliot who would later co-sign the track on Twitter.

THINGS TO CONSIDER
  • Bree Runway must feature front and centre in the artworks.

  • Creators must include Bree’s logo in their artwork which can be downloaded here as a PNG, PSD or AI.

  • If you would like, you are free to include imagery of Bree Runway in your artwork. Please only use imagery included on this link.

  • The artwork must be in line with Bree Runway’s ethos and identity. Take a look at her social channels for inspiration: Instagram, Twitter & Facebook.

  • The artwork will be used across Bree Runway’s digital and social channels.

  • You are free to create your own colour palette and work in your chosen medium! You can create static artworks, GIFs or videos.

  • This opportunity is open to creators in global markets - we would particularly love to see work from creators in Brazil.

  • Your submission can be created in any medium, documented and submitted in one of the following formats :
    • Static: PNG maximum file size 10MB. Formatted to 1:1 (min 1080px square), 4:5 (1200 x 1500 px), 9:16 (landscape, 1920px x 1080px) or 16:9 (portrait, 1080px ×1920px), minimum of 72 dpi, RGB.

    • Video: at least 0:03 seconds in length, maximum 10MB as .MP4 files. Aspect ratio 1:1 (min 1080px square), 4:5 (1200 x 1500 px) or 16:9 (portrait, 1080px ×1920px).


  • Please post and share your artwork on your personal social channels. Please make sure to tag @breerunway on Instagram and Twitter and use these hashtags/ captions:

DO NOTs:

  • Your design must be original artwork.

  • Please do not not include any reference to religious symbols, political symbols or monuments; allude to alcohol drinking scenarios or dangerous situations, include any reference to children, or include images of real people (other than Bree - though you can draw people if you wish).

  • There must be no nudity or pornography, curse words or vulgarities, no other trademarks or logos of any kind – no copyrighted text or others’ owned artwork.

  • Reference imagery should only be used for inspiration, and not used directly in your work. You may be required to provide details on where you have drawn inspiration from.

INCENTIVES

From the global market, Universal Music will chose:

  • 1 x Selected Creator who will receive £1000 for their final artwork, assigning Bree Runway an exclusive, worldwide 1-year license for use in print and digital only.

  • 2 x Finalists who will each receive £500 for their final artwork, assigning Bree Runway an exclusive, worldwide 1-year license for use in digital only.

Universal Music will choose a further 10x artworks to showcase across Bree Runway’s social channels for up to 6-months. All creators will be credited.

CREATIVE BRIEF GUIDELINES
  • No purchase necessary to enter or be selected.
  • Who is eligible: This opportunity is open to global creators. Creators must be at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction of primary residence at the time of submission. Employees and their immediate family and household members of Universal Music and TLNT (Talenthouse, Ello and Zoopps) are not eligible to participate. Void where prohibited by law.
  • All submissions must be your own original work (meaning you are not allowed to use third party pre-existing copyright materials and/or stock imagery in your submission) except for the material provided by Universal Music. All rights in and to the material provided are reserved by Universal Music.
  • How to submit: Click on the ‘Participate’ tab and follow the instructions. Please retain your original layered artwork files in the highest quality possible.
  • Please add a short description in English explaining the inspiration behind your work.
  • We advise you to carefully read the 'Things to Consider' section above.
  • 1 x Selected Creator will receive £1000 for their final artwork, assigning Bree Runway an exclusive, worldwide 1-year license for use in print and digital only.
  • 2 x Finalist who will each receive £500 for their final artwork, assigning Bree Runway an exclusive, worldwide 1-year license for use in digital only.

  • Upon selection, you will be required to sign a License Agreement and the Awardee Agreement. Please note that submissions can be used by you for personal, non-commercial and portfolio use only. Please make sure to tag @breerunway on Instagram and Twitter, using these hashtags/captions:

  • Selected Creators must respond to TLNT within 2 days of receiving the notification email or else forfeit all incentives.
  • Please provide an active email address when registering with Talenthouse to ensure you can be contacted should you be selected.
  • During the Selection Period, Talenthouse will reach out to those being shortlisted. You must respond to Talenthouse within 48 hours or else you will forfeit all incentives. For the verification, you will be asked to provide the original files of your work and a scan of your ID.
  • Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief, these guidelines or Official Rules (see below).
HOW WILL UNIVERSAL MUSIC CHOOSE

Universal Music will choose the artworks which best showcase Bree’s image, sound and personality. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions and Official Rules.

The judging criteria is based on :

  • Creativity (50%)

  • Originality (20%)

  • Overall understanding of the theme (30%)
