The long awaited Blade Runner sequel is almost here! Blade Runner 2049 takes place 30 years after the events of the original film and it brings actor Ryan Gosling together with the original Blade Runner, Harrison Ford. This neo-noir science fiction film is being brought to the big screen by Academy-Award-nominated director Denis Villeneuve.
To celebrate the U.S. release of the film on October 6, 2017, artists, designers and illustrators from around the world are invited to create one-of-a-kind artwork for Blade Runner 2049.
Artists may submit alternative film posters, animated GIFs or cinemagraphs. Artists should watch the trailer below and check out the film’s Facebook page for additional inspiration.
Five pieces of art will be selected by Warner Bros. Pictures and Ridley Scott. The Selected Artists will receive $2,000 for each piece chosen and potentially have their work showcased at an upcoming Blade Runner 2049 event.

Ridley Scott is an acclaimed director and producer who has been known for his work in film and TV spanning the last five decades. His notable films include Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma & Louise, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, and The Martian, to name only a few. He returned to the world of Blade Runner as an executive producer on the much-anticipated Blade Runner 2049, opening this October. He has graciously agreed to judge this Creative Invite to find the five Selected Pieces that potentially will be showcased at an upcoming Blade Runner 2049 event!
In case Ridley Scott becomes unavailable, a panel composed of the Warner Bros. Pictures marketing team will judge the submissions.

- NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
- This opportunity is open globally (except countries in which the United States has embargoed goods (including without limitation, Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria)) to those who are at least 18 years of age and the age of majority at the time of entry. Void where prohibited by law.
- Multiple submissions (up to 10) and artist teams are allowed.
- Artists
should retain their original artwork files but designs must be
submitted in JPEG, PNG or GIF, max size 10MB.
- All submissions must be original artwork (meaning not using third party pre-existing copyright and/or stock materials). Please no photography or video.
- Artists may depict the likenesses of the characters in Blade Runner 2049 and may include the Blade Runner 2049 title treatment logo in their artwork. All rights in and to the characters and title treatment logo are reserved by Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. ("Warner Bros. Pictures"), Alcon Entertainment LLC ("Alcon"), and Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. ("CPII").
- Selected Artists (defined in Official Rules) grant Warner Bros. Pictures, Alcon, CPII and their licensees and assigns a worldwide, exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use their submitted work in connection with the promotion and distribution of Blade Runner 2049 in all media, now known or hereafter devised. Selected Artists will be required to sign a license agreement.
- All artists retain ownership in their work excluding Selected Artists who have signed a license agreement. However, by submitting you hereby grant to Warner Bros. Pictures, Alcon, and CPII a worldwide, non-exclusive royalty-free license for three years to use your submitted work across their various marketing platforms in association with the film Blade Runner 2049. All artists will be credited accordingly.
- Any ownership in the work is subject to and restricted by Warner Bros. Pictures', Alcon's, CPII's underlying rights in the Blade Runner IP defined in the Official Rules and entrants may make only personal use (e.g. portfolio purposes) of the submissions without express written consent from Warner Bros. Pictures, Alcon, and CPII; in no event, may an entrant obtain a fee, royalty, advertising revenue, or any other payment in exchange for the submission.
- Artists must join Talenthouse using an active email address in order to ensure they can be contacted should they be selected.
- Selected Artists must respond to Talenthouse within two days of receiving the notification email or else will forfeit all incentives.
- Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief and follow the guidelines or Official Rules.
