adidas is the original sports brand, driven by innovation and a bias to action. They are creators, makers and doers. Creativity is what fuels them – whether it's on the field, on the court, or on the street, creativity is their inspiration. This year adidas Running is launching the adidas UltraBOOST 19 - an entirely reimagined and redesigned version of the brand’s iconic leading performance running shoe, that has more energy return than ever before!

Reimagine the UltraBOOST 19 key visual, inspired by ‘London energy’, the 3 energy moments of a step, and vibrancy of the running culture.

Use graphic design, illustration or digital collage to create your artwork - make sure it is creative thumb-stopping and will stand out wherever it’s used. Read more in the 'Submission Guidelines' section below!

1 Selected Artist will receive £4,000, and up to 3 pieces of work will be chosen as Finalists and will receive £2,000 each.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
  • Your submission should be inspired by ‘London energy’ (whatever this means to you!), and the 3 energy moments of the UltraBOOST 19 running shoe step: energy trail, touch & go, and energy return.
  • Bring energy, vibrance, culture and running to your artwork.
  • Please use this key visual template*. Focus your design within this step shape.
  • Read the design guide for full details on the key visual including fixed / editable sections.
  • You're welcome to use whatever colours you wish! You may take inspiration from the colours of the UltraBOOST 19 shoe - check out the palette in the design guide.

  • Check out this mood board for inspiration!
  • Feel free to use text (in English) in your artwork, and please ensure it's in-keeping with the rest of the design.
  • You can submit up to 10 times though so feel free to create variations of your design!
  • Please don't include people, other brands, or any dangerous situations in your submission.
  • The selected artwork may be used on billboards and social media, so should be suitable for print and digital use.

Runners made it clear they wanted a simpler product with fewer pieces but equally high performance, this shoe has more energy return than ever before delivering a responsive running shoe.

THE CAREER OPPORTUNITY

1 Selected Artist, as chosen by adidas, will:
  • Potentially have their artwork used as the lead creative for the UltraBOOST 19 launch;
  • Potentially have their work used in adidas’ OOH campaign in London, and showcased across marketing and PR channels;
  • Receive £4,000.

Up to 3 pieces of work will be selected by adidas. The Finalists will:
  • Potentially have their artwork shared across adidas digital and social channels;
  • Receive £2,000 each.
CREATIVE INVITE GUIDELINES
  • This opportunity is open globally to those who are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of primary residence at the time of submission. Employees and their immediate family and household members of adidas and Talenthouse are not eligible to participate. Void where prohibited by law.
  • Limit ten (10) submissions per artist or artist team.
  • Please note that submissions will not be visible to the public until after the announcement of the Selected Artist on March 4, 2019. Please do not share your submission on social media or upload your submission to your Talenthouse profile.
  • All submissions must be your own original work (meaning you are not allowed to use third party pre-existing copyright materials and/or stock imagery in your submission) except for the material provided by adidas. All rights in and to the material provided are reserved by adidas.
  • Please use the template provided, and retain your original artwork files in the highest quality possible but work must be submitted in JPEG or PNG, max size 10MB. Please no photography or video.
  • Please add a short description in English explaining the inspiration behind your design. Please use the 'Say something about your submission' section within your submission.
  • We advice you to carefully read the "Submission Guidelines" above.
  • Artists that are not selected retain ownership in the original portions of their work, however adidas has the right to promote submissions on their channels in connection with this Creative Invite for three (3) months after the announcement of the Selected Artist. All artists will be credited accordingly.
  • The Selected Artist and Finalists will have to sign an agreement assigning all rights, title and interest in and to the selected work to adidas for global usage. The selected work can still be used for artist's own portfolio purposes.
  • The Selected Artist will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement and add the official UltraBOOST 19 image to their artwork. This will be provided to the Selected Artist by Talenthouse. The Selected Artist may also be asked to make minor amends to their artwork to accommodate production requirements.
  • Artists must join Talenthouse using an active email address in order to ensure they can be contacted should they be selected.
  • The Selected Artist and Finalists must respond to Talenthouse within two (2) days of receiving the notification email or else will forfeit all incentives.
  • Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief, these guidelines or Official Rules.
  • No purchase necessary to enter or be selected.
how adidas will choose
adidas will select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.
