Create & install artwork on Atlanta's 'Art Walk' with Moxy Atlanta Midtown
Following the success of previous #MoxyBlankCanvas campaigns, Moxy Hotels (part of Marriott International) is now looking for another official Artist-in-Residence for one of its newest hotels, Moxy Atlanta Midtown.
This hotel is located in one of the most dynamic and creative parts of this bustling southern city, and they’re right on Atlanta's Art Walk! As part of the Moxy Blank Canvas program, the hotel is offering 1 artist the opportunity to create artwork that will become ingrained in Midtown Atlanta’s vibrant culture. Home to the largest concentration of cultural venues in the southeast and attracting more than 6 million visitors each year, Midtown Atlanta’s art scene isn’t confined to gallery walls – it spills out into the streets and sidewalks.
Design and paint mural artwork for an outdoor space at the Moxy Atlanta Midtown hotel. Use the spaces available on the 'Art Walk' to create a truly inspiring and insta-worthy experience for art lovers walking through the city.
You may work with graffiti, illustration or paint (or maybe even mosaic art) - it’s up to you how you create your design. Your work should be imaginative and completely new outside the Moxy. It will be the first installation along the Art Walk and will set the tone for future installations along the art corridor! Envisioned as a unique pedestrian experience, the Art Walk links culture and community to transit within a creative space that fosters human connection and interaction at the street level. Be inspired by Midtown’s high-energy arts hub and Moxy's cheeky ‘Play On’ attitude.
The Selected Artist will receive $4,000 plus $4,000 production budget to bring their artwork to life over 5 days in September/October 2019. 2 Finalists will receive $500 each and potential exposure across Moxy’s social channels.
