Create a short video for indeed.com inspired by living in a city

Work is the life blood of any global city. The buzz and the excitement of waking up every day in a city you love can be exhilarating.

The world's #1 job finding site, indeed.com, are inviting filmmakers and creators across the globe to create a short form video that tells the story of living in a global city.

Indeed and their judge are looking for videos that celebrate life in a global city. The city is a vibrant hive of activity. People living. People working. Every day is a new opportunity to explore all that your city has to offer.

The videos should bring to life the sentence "I want to enjoy all that a city has to offer but I can only do that when I work and live there, Indeed allows me to search for any job in any city so I can truly experience it.” Indeed is the partner that helps job-seekers explore and find the perfect job in the urban jungle.

Filmmakers are asked to submit a 30 second video. The Selected Artists are asked to provide 15’ and 5’ edits of the video after selection. A minimum of one Selected Artist will receive $5,000, exposure on indeed.com’s owned channels, and a paid social media campaign on Facebook and YouTube. Three Highly Commended Artists will also receive $2,500 each and potential exposure on indeed.com's social channels.

Submission Requirements

Please consider the following when working on your submission:

  • Your submissions should reflect the jobseekers ‘explorer’ mindset.
  • Submissions should inspire the audience to begin and continue their journey towards a new job.
  • The role of Indeed need to be central in your submission. The role is defined as: Indeed have tens of thousands of new jobs added to their website every day in cities around the world. Through Indeed, people can turn this potential into reality.
  • Indeed are trying to give a sense of epic, yet intimate.
  • Indeed is looking for work that feels very authentic, real, intimate, personal.
  • Ignore any previous Indeed work you may find online, as Indeed would like to see new exploratory ideas that can lift the brand.
  • Option to create films that are either animation or live action film.
  • Create visually interesting ways to bring each of the Indeed features and benefits to life in your video.
  • The indeed.com app or website has to be included in your video. E.g. shown on a device, screen, etc. showcasing how the app or website works.
  • Do brand your video by including the Indeed logo and brand assets, which can be found in this Creative Pack.
  • Do follow the brand guidelines set out by Indeed.
  • Feel free to use a voice over or music, as long as it is original and does not include third party content and is in English.
  • Do not use jokes, negativity or metaphors in your video.

Paul J. D’Arcy, an experienced technology industry CMO and digital marketing entrepreneur, is the Senior Vice President of Marketing at indeed.com, one of the largest job websites in the world.

D’Arcy is responsible for worldwide marketing, alliances, and business development of the company, that boasts over 180 million unique visitors a month from over 60 countries.

  • This opportunity is open globally to those who are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. Void where prohibited by law.

  • Limit ten (10) submissions per artist or artist team.
  • Videos submitted must be original (meaning not using third party copyright materials with the exception of the assets provided by Indeed in the Creative Pack).
 All rights in and to the assets provided are reserved by Indeed.
  • The submitted spot should be a creative adaption of the brief and communicate a clear product benefit. Before you start filming your spot please take into account the information indicated under 'SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS'.

  • You should use the assets provided by Indeed in the Creative Pack to produce your video.
 Any ownership in the video is subject to and restricted by Indeed's underlying rights in the Indeed IP.
  • The video should have a length of exactly 30 seconds.
 Videos must be uploaded via the "Participate" tab to the Talenthouse player.
  • If you use voice over or typography to reinforce the message of your video, it must be in English.

  • All videos to be edited and delivered in minimum HD 1080p (1920x1080px)
, with high audio quality.
  • Please store separate video and audio tracks of your film project in case your video is selected.

  • If your video is selected you will have to provide the full 30 second video along with a 15 second and 5 second edit within 2 weeks of selection.

  • The Selected Artists and Highly Commended Artists may be asked to modify their work to fit production requirements (including adding end-frame, logos, etc).
  • All music and content (e.g. people appearing in the video) included in submitted videos must be original and/or cleared to use. Proof will be required if selected.

  • Submitted videos can be adapted for the foregoing purpose.

  • Artists who are not selected will retain ownership of their work, however Indeed will have the right to promote submissions on their channels in connection with this Creative Invite up to 3 months after artist announcement. All artists will be credited accordingly.

  • For the incentives set forth above, the Selected Artists will have to sign an Artist Agreement, which assigns full copyright of their Work to Indeed for global usage. Selected videos can still be used for artist's own portfolio purposes. Selected Artists cannot use the Work for any other purpose, including the right to commercialize the work or to permit others to use the work in any way, commercial or otherwise.

  • The Highly Commended Artists grant Indeed an exclusive, global, royalty-free license for up to 2 years after submissions close, to use their submitted work across their social marketing channels. The Highly Commended Artists will have to sign a License Agreement.
  • Artists must join Talenthouse using an active email address in order to ensure they can be contacted should they be selected.

  • The Selected Artists must respond to Talenthouse within two (2) days of receiving the notification email or else will forfeit all incentives.

  • Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief, guidelines or Official Rules.

  • No purchase necessary to enter.
How Indeed will choose
Indeed and Paul D'Arcy will select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.
