Renowned UK fashion retailer Harvey Nichols presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for designers to create a unique piece with global appeal.

As part of an upcoming special project, Harvey Nichols invites designers from across the world to create an exclusive print design celebrating the fusion of Harvey Nichols and Italian style.

Harvey Nichols are looking for print designs that truly celebrate the intersection between the best of Italian style and the iconic UK fashion brand Harvey Nichols. The designs will be used to celebrate the fact that Harvey Nichols showcases the very best of Italy, with amazing products made, designed and inspired by Italy.

Four designs will be selected by Harvey Nichols. The Selected Artists will have their work featured across Harvey Nichols global marketing materials, selected stores worldwide, and could have their print developed into exclusive merchandise with select partners. The Selected Artists will also receive $1,000 per selected design.

Things to consider
  • The work should be created in an A1 format
  • If selected, you will be asked to provide your work in vector PDF, Adobe Illustrator or EPS format, max. size 15MB - please upload as JPG or PNG
  • The design should be image/design only, avoid integrating typeface
  • Please carefully consider the variety of formats this print will be used across: print, digital, fabric, potentially merchandise, etc.
  • Entries should look to celebrate Italian style in a way appropriate to the Harvey Nichols brand
  • The print should feel high-end and exclusive & be inspired by the best of Italy - food, fashion, drinks, the country

Harvey Nichols has always been synonymous with style, and will be bringing the very best of Italian style to their customers. This will include clothes, accessories, shoes, food, wine and even coffee.

the career opportunity
Harvey Nichols will select four print designs. The Selected Artists will:
  • Receive exposure across Harvey Nichols' social media channels and harveynichols.com platform
  • Have their work potentially featured across Harvey Nichols global marketing materials, and in selected stores worldwide
  • Have the opportunity for their designs to be utilized in merchandise to be used exclusively by Harvey Nichols and select partners (A revenue share will be agreed in advance of production)
  • Receive $1,000 for each selected design

creative invite guidelines
  • This opportunity is open globally to those who are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. Void where prohibited by law.
  • Limit ten (10) submissions per artist or artist team.
  • Artists should retain their original artwork files (in 600dpi, A1) but designs must be submitted in JPEG or PNG, max size 10MB.
  • Artists should carefully consider the guidelines set out in the ‘THINGS TO CONSIDER’ and ‘INSPIRATION’ sections of the Creative Invite.
  • Designs must be original (meaning not using third party pre-existing copyright materials).
  • The Selected Artists may be asked to modify their work to fit production requirements.
  • Artists are asked not to share their submissions on social media.
  • Artists that are not selected retain ownership in their work, however, Harvey Nichols has the rights to promote the Work on their social media channels, events, merchandise, instore, and online platforms with reference to the respective Creative Invite for up to two years after launch. All artists will be credited accordingly.
  • The Selected Artists will be required to sign a Release Form which assigns full transfer of intellectual property rights, including copyright of their work to Harvey Nichols for global usage. Selected Artists may make only personal use (e.g. portfolio purposes) of the submissions without express written consent from Harvey Nichols.
  • All Artists are not permitted to submit and or sell their submitted work to another retail brand in 2 years after launch.
  • The official announcement of Selected Artists will be made November 1, 2016 in line with the launch of the Harvey Nichols campaign. Selected Artists will be notified directly on July 28, 2016.
  • Artists must join Talenthouse using an active email address in order to ensure they can be contacted should they be selected.
  • The Selected Artists must respond to Talenthouse within two (2) days of receiving the notification email or else will forfeit all incentives.
  • Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief or guidelines.
  • No purchase necessary to enter.

Harvey Nichols will select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.
