Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (“WBHE”) are soon launching a 4k release of The Goonies - an iconic story of a group of young misfits who discover an ancient map and set out on an adventure to find a legendary pirate's long-lost treasure.

Create an animated GIF stickers pack inspired by the 4k release of The Goonies characters and trailer. Capture the adventures and journey the group experience.

Creators should create a minimum of at least 2 animated stickers, all of which, should be themed after The Goonies. The goal is to show your unique style and how you can bring these characters to life as exciting, sharable animated GIF stickers! Based on the submitted stickers WBHE will select one overall creator to produce the final GIF sticker pack. For more details on the exact requirements, check out the 'Things to Consider' section below.

1 Selected Creator will be chosen by WBHE. The Selected Creator will be commissioned to create 10 additional stickers for the pack, and receive a total of $7,000. Additionally, 2 Finalists will be chosen and receive $1,500 each.

Things to Consider
  • Create animated GIF stickers that captures iconic elements from the movie, The Goonies
  • Include at least 2 GIF stickers in each submission. You can submit up to 10 times
  • Include a GIF sticker from 2 of these 4 themes in each submission (e.g. 1 capturing a quote, and 1 inspired by a prop):
    • Quotes
    • Iconic sets
    • Props
    • Characters

  • Your GIF stickers should be made to 500-600px with 1x1 ratio, and created in RGB color
  • Please set your GIF stickers so that when exported, they loop forever, and have min 20% transparent pixels, with no white or opaque color backgrounds
  • Please note, if you are the Selected Creator you will be commissioned to create 8 additional animated GIFs in the same style as the selected work. This project will take place between April 30, 2020 - May 13, 2020
  • Feel free to use the imagery in this Asset Pack to inspire your work. Please do not use it directly in your work.
  • Pay attention NOT to include these themes / imagery in artwork;
    • Talent names and likenesses
    • Baby Ruth Bars
    • Superman logo on Sloth shirt
    • Statute on coffee table / private parts get broken

From the imagination of Steven Spielberg and the director Richard Donner, The Goonies plunges a band of small heroes into a swashbuckling surprise-around-every corner quest beyond their wildest dreams! Following a mysterious treasure map into a spectacular underground realm of twisting passages, outrageous booby-traps and a long-lost pirate ship full of golden doubloons, the kids race to stay one step ahead of a family of bumbling bad guys…and a mild mannered monster with a face only a mother could love.

The Incentives
1 Selected Creator will be chosen by WBHE will:
  • Be commissioned to create 8 additional animated GIF stickers
  • Potentially have their work shared across WBHE social and digital channels
  • Receive a total of $7,000
2 Finalists will be chosen by WBHE. The Finalists will:
  • Potentially receive exposure for their work across The Goonies’s digital and marketing channels
  • Receive $1,500 each
Creative Brief Guidelines
  • NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
  • Who is eligible: This opportunity is open globally (except these countries in which the United States has embargoed goods, including without limitation, Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria) to those who are at least 18 years of age and the age of majority at the time of entry. Void where prohibited by law.
  • Limit ten (10) submissions per creator or teams.
  • During the Submission Period, WBHE may share submissions on their owned social channels with credit given to the creator where possible.
  • Submissions will not be visible to the public until after the announcement.
  • All submissions must be your own original work (meaning you are not allowed to use third-party pre-existing copyright materials and/or stock imagery in your submission) except for the material provided by WBHE. All rights in and to the characters, Asset Pack and title treatment logo are reserved by WBHE.
  • All submissions must include a minimum of 2 animated GIF stickers, 1 from 4 different themes detailed above.
  • How to submit: Click on the ‘Participate’ tab and follow the instructions. Your work must be submitted as in animated GIF format, 500-600px at 1:1 ration, RGB colors, minimum 20% transparent pixels, no white or opaque color background, minimum 72dpi (or 150dpi), set to loop forever upon export. Please retain your original animated GIF files in the highest quality possible. Only digital animations. Please, no static artwork or photography.
  • If you are selected you will have to supply your artwork as the original animated GIF file.
  • Please add a short description in English explaining the inspiration behind your work. Please use the 'Say something about your submission' section within your submission.
  • We advise you to carefully read the "Things to Consider" section above.
  • Any ownership in the submitted work is subject to and restricted by WBHEs' underlying rights in the Warner IP and entrants may make only personal use (e.g. portfolio purposes) of the submissions without express written consent from WBHE; in no event, may an entrant obtain a fee, royalty, advertising revenue, or any other payment in exchange for the submission


  • If you are not selected, you will retain ownership in the original portions of your work. However, by submitting you hereby grant WBHE a worldwide, non-exclusive license for three (3) years to use your submitted work across their various online and social marketing platforms in association with the film The Goonies. All Creators will be credited accordingly where possible.
  • If you are a Finalist, you will be required to assign all rights, title and interest in and to the chosen work to WBHE. Upon selected, you will be required to sign a License Agreement and Awardee Agreement. Your submission may be used by you for personal, non-commercial and portfolio purposes (including owned digital channels).
  • If you are the Selected Creator, you will be required to complete an additional commission project and produce 8 additional animated GIFs. You will need to be available to complete these additional work between April 30, 2020 - May 13, 2020.
  • If you are the Selected Creator, you will be required to assign all rights, title and interest in and to the 10 animated GIFs (2 submitted to the brief, and 8 creators for the commission project), to WBHE. Upon selected, you will be required to sign a License Agreement and Awardee Agreement. Your submission may be used by you for personal, non-commercial and portfolio purposes (including owned digital channels).
  • If selected, you may be asked to modify your work to fit production requirements. This may be up to 1 round of minor edits.
  • Please provide an active email address when registering with Talenthouse to ensure you can be contacted should you be selected.
  • During the selection period, Talenthouse will reach out to those being shortlisted. You must respond to Talenthouse within forty-eight (48) hours or else you will forfeit all incentives. For the verification, you will be asked to provide the original files of your work and a scan of your ID.
  • Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief, these guidelines or Official Rules (see below).

how warner bros. will choose
WBHE will select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.

Creators and Artists will be selected from among all eligible submissions received on the basis of: substance; creativity; and originality, each of which will be given equal weight.
