Finished
Selected Creator Announcement:

Thank you to everyone who submitted their beautiful designs for The Glenlivet's 200th year anniversary. Submission will remain hidden until closer to the product release date. However a massive congratulations to the Selected Creator Studio Berdi and the wonderful Finalists Marcus Mariani, Yeve Drovosekova, Itty Danilo and Andy Behan.

As the original Speyside Single Malt, The Glenlivet has been setting new standards since 1824. Their founder, George Smith, was a curious and innovative spirit who, when he saw the world was changing, seized the opportunity to innovate, progress forward and make his mark on history.

200 years later, his legacy continues to inspire and fuel The Glenlivet's passion for progress and originality. As they celebrate this exciting milestone, we are inviting artists from all disciplines to join us in breaking tradition to craft packaging for a commemorative Limited-Edition bottle of The Glenlivet.

For the packaging design, we’re looking for an original spin on The Glenlivet story, one that breaks the conventions of the Single Malt category to arrest the attention of the next generation of whisky drinkers. There are no rules around how to enjoy The Glenlivet, therefore let nothing inhibit your creativity or your originality. Enjoy creating a fresh, contemporary Limited Edition packaging for The Glenlivet that honours their past and embraces their future.

Things to Consider
  • Craft an original carton and bottle design for The Glenlivet’s 200-year anniversary using your own unique skills and talent, but do what you can to incorporate or reimagine our brand equities to make this distinctively The Glenlivet
  • Designs should be elevated, premium and truly celebratory to proudly commemorate 200 years of The Glenlivet
  • Your designs should deliver impact on the shelf, breaking the conventions of the Single Malt category with fresh style, modern relevance, and warm approachability
  • Your submission should appeal to a global target audience who relates the Glenlivet's core values – championing originality, progressiveness, openness and curiosity
  • Stay true to our heritage, but be bold, courageous, and unafraid to mix it up
  • Use this packaging template, when creating your work. You will be designing the bottle label and outer carton (we recommend you submit them together side by side, here is an example of how it could look)
  • Please submit both the flat template and mock-up (it includes guidelines on fixed e.g. logo & text and editable areas e.g. white space of the template)
  • To note: The Glenlivet are unable to provide font files (due to licensing) however in the 'packaging templates' the font names are given. You can be influenced by the fonts and if you wish to use text in your work you are welcome to use or create your own
  • Please read the Design Guidelines before starting your work

  • Check out this mood board for inspiration
  • Keep in mind your submissions should be suitable for point of sale and promotional outlets worldwide, and may also be used on The Glenlivet’s social channels
  • Be inspired by The Glenlivet's color palette when creating your work. You can add complementary colors as you wish. This product will be our signature whisky The Glenlivet 12-Year-Old – consider how we use Teal as the overarching colour for this product (also the brand colour)
  • You can use text in your work, but please only use British English. You can use a free-to-use font or originally create your own (recommended)
  • Reference imagery should only be used for inspiration, and not used directly in your work
  • Don't show or imply drunkenness, that the brand has curative or therapeutic properties, irresponsible drinking, including any people who look under the age of 25 or any other brands in your artwork
  • Don't include references to any real people, dangerous situations, other brands, show/imply alcohol or drunkenness, or anything offensive (ie George’s pistols!)
  • Tell us about your inspiration and original thinking behind your design via the 'Description' field in your submission
  • Please DO NOT share your submitted work online, on social media or in your portfolio
ABOUT GLENLIVET

The Glenlivet is, and has always been, THE ORIGINAL SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT. Inspired by the conviction and vision of our founder George Smith, we’ve been setting new standards since 1824 as we defy the laws of convention to open-up the world of single malt to be enjoyed by all.

Our story begins in the remote and isolated Livet valley, where our fearless founder broke the rules to illegally craft a whisky that would be sought after by kings and literary legends alike. When the opportunity arose to become the first legal distiller in the parish of Glenlivet, George grasped it, even as it put him at dangerous odds with the other illicit distillers in the region. To protect himself and his distillery, he carried a pair of flintlock pistols with him wherever he went.

Fast forward 200 years and The Glenlivet is continuing to break traditions and set new standards in whisky. We showcase the bold and vibrant world of Scotch and encourage the enjoyment of single malt outside the confines of traditional conventions.

From Smith’s indomitable courage in obtaining his first distillery licence to our latest #breakthesterotype campaign which celebrates the modern whisky drinker, The Glenlivet continues to be bold, confident and irrepressibly ORIGINAL.
