Design artwork for DKNY's new logo!
For years, DKNY's iconic skyline logo artwork (right) has served as the unofficial entrance to New York City's Soho district. The logo has become more “fabric of the city” than corporate billboard.
Now, this quintessential New York fashion label is looking to draw inspiration from the Soho Wall and invite creators to design custom artwork, utilizing a brand-new D-K-N-Y logo. The new logo returns to the design aesthetic of the historic Soho Wall era – thicker, bolder and more in your face (like a New Yorker!) - reinforcing DKNY’s position as an innovative, cool and cosmopolitan brand.
Visual artists and storytellers from around the world are invited to create one-of-a-kind artworks that play with the new logo, using it in its classic vertical form (or stacked alternative, or both!). You are free to create the artwork in a medium of your choice that is authentic to your practice - this could be photography, multimedia (i.e. short form animation), paint or graffiti - as long as the final assets are formatted for social media (see 'Things To Consider' section below).
DKNY invite you to take inspiration from some of the logo artworks that have already been created - such as the animation below and the two static logo artworks further down this page!
The judges at DKNY are looking for bold and eye-catching artworks that champion the brand's cool, cosmopolitan ethos. 7 x artworks will be chosen as Selected Creators - each creator will receive $2000. All artworks could potentially be featured across DKNY’s social channels in real time, with credit given.
