Nationwide Building Society believe everyone deserves a place fit to call home, and improving communities is at the heart of what they do. They're launching their Instagram channel and would like to showcase multimedia artwork that celebrates and explores the theme of ‘home’, created by the most talented artists in the UK - that's you!

The brief: Create bold and uplifting mixed media artwork (digital illustrations, gifs, or animations) inspired by Nationwide's values of 'home'. The work will be used on their new Instagram channel.

15 pieces of work will be chosen by Nationwide as Selected Creators, and receive £500 each. This opportunity is only open to residents of the United Kingdom.


Things to Consider
  • Create multimedia artwork that celebrates and explores the theme of ‘home’ for Nationwide's Instagram channel
  • Nationwide would like you to capture what ‘home’ means to you e.g.
    • Saving for a home to call your own?
    • How does home make you feel?
    • What’s your idea of home?
  • Your submission can either be a:
    • Static digital illustration (1:1 ratio, 1200x1200px, JPEG or PNG, RGB)
    • GIF (1:1 ratio, 2000px x 2000px, 3 secs)
    • Animation (1:1 ratio, 1080x1080px, MP4 or .MOV, RGB, Max 10 secs)
  • Your work should appeal to young adults and young families
  • Keep in mind your submissions should be suitable for Nationwide Building Society social media channels, therefore, making them really stand out and be shareable on social platforms
  • Please only use Nationwide's colour palette when creating your work


  • You don't need to include the Nationwide logo, in your work, however, if you wish to include the logo you can
  • If you wish you can use text in your work, but please only use British English. You can use Nationwide's font (please do not use these fonts anywhere else as they are owned by Nationwide) or originally create your own.
  • You can include illustrated people in your submission, but please ensure they are not real
  • Reference imagery should only be used for inspiration, and not used directly in your work
  • Don't include references to any real people, dangerous situations, other brands, show/imply alcohol or drunkenness, nudity, promoting Nationwide's products or services in any way or anything offensive
  • Please include a 70-word (max written description in English) detailing the inspiration behind the artwork and what home means to you via the 'Description' field in your submission
  • Please don't share your submitted work online, social media or in your portfolio

THE INCENTIVES
15 pieces of work will be chosen by Nationwide as Selected Creators. Each will:
  • Potentially have their work used across Nationwide's social channels with credit given to you as a creative
  • Receive £500 for each piece selected

CREATIVE BRIEF GUIDELINES
  • Who is eligible: This opportunity is open to UK residents only and you need to be at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction of primary residence at the time of submission. Employees and their immediate family and household members of Nationwide and TLNT (Talenthouse, Ello and Zoopps) are not eligible to participate. Void where prohibited by law.
  • Limit 15 submissions per creator or teams.
  • Please note, that during the Submission Period, your submission may be featured on Nationwide's social media channels with credit given to you.
  • All submissions must be your own original work (meaning you are not allowed to use third-party pre-existing copyright materials and/or stock imagery in your submission) except for the material provided by Nationwide. All rights in and to the material provided are reserved by Nationwide.
  • How to submit: Click on the ‘Participate’ tab and follow the instructions. Your work must be submitted in JPEG or PNG format, max. size 10 MB. Please retain your original layered artwork files in the highest quality possible. Your work must be submitted in MP4 format, max. size 10 MB. Please retain your original source files in the highest quality possible. Please no photography.
  • Please add a short description in English explaining the inspiration behind your work. Please use the 'Say something about your submission' section within your submission.
  • We advise you to carefully read 'Things to Consider' section above.
  • If you are not selected, you will retain ownership in the original portions of your work. However, by submitting you hereby grant Nationwide a worldwide, non-exclusive, digital license from Creative Brief launch, for up to 3 months after the Selected Creator Announcement, to use your submitted work across their various online and social media platforms. If your work is used, you will be credited accordingly.
  • If you are a ‘Selected Creator’, you will be required to assign a 1-year limited digital license for social usage only on Nationwide UK Instagram channel for the specified incentives. Upon selection, you will be required to sign a License Agreement and the Awardee Agreement. Please note that submissions cannot be used by you for personal, non-commercial and portfolio use only.
  • If selected, you may be asked to modify your work to fit production requirements.
  • Please provide an active email address when registering with Talenthouse to ensure you can be contacted should you be selected.
  • During the Selection Period, Talenthouse will reach out to those being shortlisted. You must respond to Talenthouse within forty-eight (48) hours or else you will forfeit all incentives. For the verification, you will be asked to provide the original files of your work and a scan of your ID.
  • Talenthouse reserves the right to remove inappropriate, offensive and harmful submissions as well as submissions that do not fit the brief, these guidelines or Official Rules (see below).
  • No purchase necessary to enter or be selected.
  • We require you to open up an ElloU bank account in order to get paid if you are a national of one of these countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, and Sweden. ElloU will be the cheapest service for you to pay and receive money. You can read more here and can download the ElloU app from the App Store or Google Play by searching for ElloU. If ElloU does not apply to you, we can still pay your incentive by bank transfer (no cost to you) or PayPal (4% fee you will).
HOW WILL NATIONWIDE CHOOSE
Nationwide will select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one that meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.

The judging criteria is based on Creativity (30%), Originality (30%) and Overall Understanding of the theme (40%).
