Come up with short stories inspired by comic book writing
Comic art is popular everywhere, from Anime to superheroes! It's the perfect way to show a narrative or story in a clever, fun way. A sequence of static comic images can be made explosive and dynamic with the help of bold narrative, it’s not all about the illustrations! So grab your pens and get writing!
Calling all Copywriters and/or Comic enthusiasts. Using our Script Breakdown Template We want you to come up with an original synopsis for a short, 10-panel comic, and develop it with a script and art direction. This is your opportunity to show off your skills and use your passion for storytelling through the power of comic books!
Talenthouse will select 5 stand out pieces, see incentives below.
Create an original synopsis for a short comic, and develop it with a script and art direction.
Please use our Script Breakdown Template.
We want to see themes such as culture, travel, cuisine, experiences, family & friends, relationships, and hobbies.
Therefore feel free to be inspired by your own cultures when writing your stories.
Try to keep things light and fun and stay away from sensitive themes.
Please explore different genres! From Comedy, Sci-Fi, Horror, Romance etc. However, keep in mind we would like them to be funny and lighthearted.
Please feel free to include imagery or sketches to support your narrative.
Please keep the narrative to be at a maximum of 10 comic panels in length.
To keep it simple create stories centred around two (2) characters or people.
When submitting upload the Script Breakdown as a PDF along with sketches if you wish to include them.
