Hi! I’m Alex Bobeda, a digital designer and visual artist which has worked for some of the world’s largest companies, such as Petrobras, Ambev, TIM, and Vale, before embracing the freelance path. When I was growing up, drawing and writing comics and fanzines were my passions. Though, in the late ’90s, I gained a BA in Language and Communications from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), which, in some degree, has led me to write 3 books. At the same time, I was teaching myself about the design principles, and I was also developing my sense of visual composition. At first, with a layout and typographical style that, since then, has been evolved into graphics and illustrations. In the early 2000s, I finished an Art Direction degree at Senac in Rio and, recently, in Visual Language and Typography at School of Visual Arts, New York. But, of course, I’m still learning now. I’m engaged in collaborations, freelance special projects, and my personal projects — like the various alternative posters to the films that marked my life. I love and feel always inspired by cartoons, movies from the 80’s/90’s (also the early 2000’s) and pop culture references overall. Songs and retro games from the aforementioned past decades are also part of my routine! I currently live in sunny Rio, Brazil.
