À propos de Jelena Simic - Popovic

All works seem more as a design than a finished painting, something easily seen as a t-shirt logo, postcard, flyer or CD cover.
The layers of the creation process are similar to that of a collage only they can be viewed as separate pieces if desired. This extended process of collaging, photographing and printing in primitive techniques connects with the imagery taken from a time period before advertising was a digital process.

Influences Inspired by the traditional Japanese prints, TV commercials, fascination with vintage design and old commercials of the 1950's and it's use of primitive font styles to connect with it's audience on both verbal and emotional levels, extended the previous concept of academic works involving signs, logos, stenciling prints and use of 3D objects as a relief mixed media.

Hi, I'm new to this network, and strolling through the artists I came across your work. I find it interesting your work. Do not know much about art in all the extension of his word, however pictorial growth as an artist, I am now a designer, illustrator and photographer. If I may, with due respect, I suggest you photograph your work in natural light, 2 hrs before sunset to 2 hours after dawn and the sun is not as strong or senital, that will help you avoid the flash camera, which sometimes hinders the work to appreciate. But uses a white sheet to diffuse the sunlight if it is too direct.
