A lot of the work I do has been on a voluntary basis for local community groups and events.

I have been using Photoshop since I was 15, and love spending my time creating digital art and editing my photography.

I have been face painting since late 2004, and find myself regularly experimenting with the colours I use as well as improvising on the designs I paint. I also have a collection of short films that I have produced from the ground up. This is something that I have really loved doing, but unfortunately has been pushed on the back burner due to money and time constraints.

One of my biggest passions is to sing, and I'm in my comfort zone when belting or singing in gravelly tones. I'm also doing a bit of song writing at the moment and I hope to have the results of this, face painting and short films on my profile soon!


Currently I have a on display called "Seaton a Process of Regeneration". Its an EVOLVING PROJECT which started when I was studying my A-level Photography in 2007. Seaton is a unique, naturally stunning town set in the heart of the World Heritage Coast. With roughly 7,400 residents, Seaton has been marred by bad development and greed shown by East Devon District Council and Tesco. When I first started the project, my intention was to document Seaton as it was in the early stages of regeneration planning. As part of the project I decided to go and interview Sandra Semple, who at the time was the figure head of the Stand Up For Seaton lobby group designed to fight for good regeneration against developer greed. What initially started out as a simple piece for my final exam turned out to be the catalyst for big change when Sandra asked me to stand for council as part of an 8 strong team. This project is my way of expressing my frustration at the way in which the regeneration has been handled and how the people who live here have no say in what happens to their town. Look out for more photos and art work that will be added to the project in the near future.

Bio Hi I'm Sophie, I'm 24 and I have been an elected Town Councillor for Seaton in Devon since 2007. I'm really lucky to have had the experiences I have had with the council, as I have learnt so much from them and become a more rounded person for it.

I am quite ambitious in my ideas when it comes to my work... sometimes it can really work out in a big way, but on at least one or two occasions I find myself biting off more than I can chew!


Overall I try to take take the same approach to my creative endeavours as I do to my council work... If you don't love what you are doing, go back to the drawing board!

Influences I take influence from wherever I can get it!There are times a piece of music will spark off an idea, others where a simple t-shirt might just do the trick! Sometimes it can come from the strangest places or from simply people I have met.
