The Paul Taylor Dance Company.
Paul Taylor is the last living member of the pantheon that created America’s indigenous art of modern dance. Mr. Taylor’s impact on dance has stretched over six decades, since he burst upon the dance scene in 1954 as both a virtuoso performer and a choreographer.
His world-renowned Paul Taylor Dance Company sets the global standard for contemporary dance excellence. Since the company’s founding in 1954, Mr. Taylor has choreographed 134 dances, many of which have attained iconic status and have been celebrated throughout the world. The Company has performed in more than 520 cities and 62 countries. Mr. Taylor continues to create two new works a year for his 16-member Company. His autobiography, Private Domain, was published in 1987 and the Company was the subject of the documentary film “Dancemaker,” nominated for an Academy Award in 1999. Mr. Taylor has achieved countless accolades, including two of America’s highest artistic distinctions: the Kennedy Center Honors and the National Medal of Arts.

| HOW THE WINNER WILL BE CHOSEN |
A jury of five led by Mr. Paul Taylor will award the scholarships. Working with Mr. Taylor will be Matthew Diamond, renowned dance director of the Taylor documentary “Dancemaker” and top TV show “So You Think You Can Dance,” current Company members Michael Trusnovec and Annmaria Mazzini as well as The Taylor School Intensive Director. The panel will choose a male and female winner.
The 20 highest voted submissions are guaranteed a viewing by the Jury. However, the Jury may look beyond these finalists to select the submission that best fits their requirements.

| WHAT THE WINNER GETS |
Each dancer will receive premiere training in modern dance technique and a full scholarship to a four-week intensive dance program to study Taylor style and repertoire. In addition, each winner will receive a $500.00 cash stipend to be used towards travel and expenses. The Winners will also be profiled on all of Paul Taylor’s social media. |

Contestants should be prepared to arrive a few days prior to the intensive. The winners will need to secure their own accommodations for the scholarship period. The Paul Taylor Intensive is located at the Paul Taylor Dance Company Studio at 551 Grand Street, New York NY, 10002. |
