Биография Born and raised in Colorado, Jennifer "JJ" Johnson Garcia got her start in the music industry in kindergarten when, at 5 years old, she was accepted into The Colorado Academy of the Arts where she studied song, dance, and performance for over 10 years. Life was not easy--Jenn was diagnosed with (and almost died from) type 1 diabetes at 8 years old shortly following her parent's harsh and unamicable divorce. However, neither Jenn's diabetes nor tough home life got in her way. By age 9, Jenn became a professional singer and toured the nation with CAA's professional performing troop, and later, with a "Just Say No" (to drugs) show. At age 11, Jenn penned an original rap song that was used in the Just Say No show. Jenn and her group even had the opportunity to perform the rap song live on Colorado's then most popular radio station KS104. At 17, Jenn gambled and bought a one-way ticket to NYC. That gamble paved the way to a meaningful recording and songwriting career that sprouted within New York City's underground mixtape scene with Duwop and The Bounce Squad and Big Kap in the 90's and graduated to the major leagues with artists, such as Nick Cannon and Usher a decade later. Additionally, Jennifer was fortunate to write/record/and or work with legends Lisa Lisa (from Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam), The Real Roxanne, Carol King, Donna Summer, Isaac Hayes, Brandy, Blaque, 3LW, Terror Squad, Cuban Link, super-producer Nick Fury (Lil Flip), Jeremy Skaller and Rob Bass of The Orange Factory (Jay Sean), Platinum-selling power producers Full Force (Brittney Spears, The BlackEyed Peas, Rhianna, Nicki Minaj), and many more. In 2000, Jenn was baptized and became a member of The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints. Later in 2003, she "retired" cold turkey from music to start a family and try her hand at college, earning an A.A. in Liberal Arts and transferring to NJCU for a B.A. in English. In late 2010 Jenn reentered the game with the vision of picking up where she left off and drawing from her life and music industry experience to put out music that is fun, contextually clean, and inspirational. Upon meeting and collaborating with Lachy and Lex on the single "Fresh and Clean," Jenn was immediately impressed by the group's shared vision and love for Hip Hop and proposed their now formal venture: IamGRecords.com
