Location United States, New York, New York

Bio A screenwriter, director, editor and independent film producer, Maker is known for his compelling character-driven dramas and organic style of directing through improvisation and experimentation with Actors. His project-driven approach to producing quality content with modest production budgets begins with the efficient use of talent, crew and resources. His mission to deliver multi-platform content for interactive target audiences will consistently outperform market expectations and maximize its return on investment.

Maker couldn\\'t afford film school, so he applied for a skills development training grant from Screen West Midlands in 2005 while studying in the UK. Maker was inspired to adapt his narrative stories into screenplays, and after receiving a training grant from Screen West Midlands and attending a series of weekend workshops at Raindance Films in London, Maker was determined to become a Director without a formal degree or hands-on training of any kind. \"Movies and DVD extras like making of\\'s and behind the scenes became my film school,\" he recalls. \"I simply learned enough to be dangerous, picked up a camera and started shooting people.\"

Maker returned to New York in 2006 and promptly wrote, produced and directed \\\\\"Lark & Cher,\\\\\" his first short film, which confronts issues of sexuality and religion when a young woman (Lark) is caught between her family\\\\\\'s faith and her romantic relationship with Cher, her best friend. The film premiered at Black Filmmaker Magazine\\\\\\'s International Film Festival in London. The film received an honorable mention at the Urban Mediamakers Film Festival in Atlanta and aired for two weeks on \\\\\"The Best Shorts,\\\\\" a popular show offering the best in Black independent short films on BETJ, a cable television subsidiary of Viacom, Inc.

Born \\\\\\'Baby Boy Adams\\\\\\' on November 9, 1968, Maker became a ward of the Waverly Children\\\\\\'s Home in Portland, Oregon on November 9, 1968. Miles has been passionate about writing since he taught himself to read at a very early age. He found happiness and comfort in stories, and by the age of 13, he was accepted into the prestigious School for the Creative and Performing Arts in San Diego, California. The SCPA offered an expanded curriculum to nurture and mentor its students in their respective talents. Miles excelled in the areas of fiction writing, drama and poetry.

While studying journalism at the University of Oregon, Miles was asked to read at a casting call for the Turner Home Entertainment movie, \\\\\"Finish Line\\\\\" (1989), starring James Brolin, Josh Brolin and Kristoff St. John. He was chosen to play the part of the character known as \\\\\\'Cooper\\\\\\' by John Nicolella, the films Director.
