There is a fervent fascination that I have with the world around me...a child-like wonder...an unending romance with the way a delicate shadow can lay across the sidewalk, the way smoldering colors hang on the horizon as sun melts into sea, and the graceful dance of morning mist as it rises from the arms of the earth. My paintings have become a public declaration of this love affair...a reflection of the beauty around me... fueled by its color, form, and texture.
After a 20-year hiatus from the pursuit of fine art, I consider my current work to be a celebration of rebirth. I have taken creativity into corporate environments for the past two decades as a graphic and interior designer, but found that my personal expression on canvas suffered in the wake of long days, heavy work loads and pressing deadlines.
The past twelve months of unwavering support and encouragement from my husband, friends and family have resulted in a reawakening of the creative voice inside of me. In it\\'s rebirth, I am more intrigued by the creative process, more drawn to it, and more passionate about it than I\\'ve ever been before. I have finally experienced that feeling that I\\'ve always longed for as an artist...where painting is like breathing. Where to NOT paint is to die a bit inside...and to even simply defer the opportunity creates an aching in the soul. I\\'ve waited all of my life to have that \"thing\"...that craving...that itch. And now that I do, I can\\'t imagine life without it.
In a world filled with fear and death and despair, I want my art to convey a sense of life and hope and vibrancy...bringing light into the darkness, speaking truth into the lie.

Local gallery/coffee shop artists - they continue to inspire me and remind me that art definitely has a place in this world! This visual conversation thing with God - painting the unexpected and being blown away by the process!
