Hailing from the Sheffield home of Roisin Murphy, Arctic Monkeys, Pulp and the Human League, Laura Steel is a charismatic, enigmatic power-pop diva...with looks that kill and hooks that leave a mark like a sonic lipstick kissed stain on your psyche.
Already a huge success independently and voted ‘One to Watch’ by internet giants Tiscali, Laura Steel is a fiercely dedicated performer and songwriter who has wowed crowds at festivals such as Wireless in London's Hyde Park and was the only independent artist on the Big Top Stage lineup at 2011's sold out Isle Of Wight Festival. The Festival's founder John Giddings said "Pixie Lott 2009, Marina & The Diamonds 2010 & Laura Steel 2011" when asked about Steel's addition to the bill and the official festival programme quoted ‘A new homegrown pop diva has been born.’
A skilled songwriter and lyricist, Laura writes her own material, and is fully involved in the creative process from designing her own artwork through to crafting her own unique personal style.
Currently putting the finishing touches to her highly anticipated debut album, Miss Steel has been back and forth across the pond recording in LA, London & New York with Dee Adam (Tiffany Page / Diana Vickers / Newton Falkner) Brian London (Rhianna / Lady Gaga / Bruno Mars), Tina Parol (Britney), Jen’s Gad (Enigma), Wayne Rodrigues (Natasha Bedingfield), Ace Young (Pop Idol), Fiction (Delta Goodrem), Justin Trugman (Eminem / The Saturdays), Marc Nelkin (Ke$ha), Karlin (JLS), Klaus Derendorf (Pussy Cat Dolls / Cheryl Cole) and Danny Garibay (Semi Precious Weapons.)
