The International Space Apps Challenge was a “codeathon-style” event. A codeathon is a unique event that brings together citizens interested in collaborating on the development solutions that address critical challenges. It celebrates software development in its most positive context—using minimal resources and maximum brainpower to create outside- the-box solutions in response to interesting problems. Codeathons are technology development marathons, drawing on the talents and initiative of the best and the brightest software developers, engineers, designers and technologists from around the world, who volunteer their time to respond to real- world problems with solutions than can have immediate impact.
The International Space Apps Challenge fosters innovation by providing a platform for citizens from around the world to work together to solve current challenges relevant to both space exploration and social need.
Here you will find the demo pitch from the fifty finalists from each city, including San Francisco, US; Tokyo, Japan; Melbourne and Canberra, Australia; Jakarta, Indonesia; Exeter and Oxford, UK; Nairobi, Kenya; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; and McMurdo Station, Antarctica and more, even with participation by Astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS).
The Innovation Endeavors community of investors, entrepreneurs and advisors are here to support and celebrate these teams and their innovations to the fifty challenges.
Now we invite you to vote for your favorite App. With your votes and along with an internationally recognized jury of investors and entrepreneurs from Innovation Endeavors, we will determine the final winners to be awarded.
Jury's Choice
After reviewing submissions the judges will select the final winners in five categories: Software, Open Hardware, Citizen Science and Data Visualization to receive a custom mentorship and support package from Innovation Endeavors and Talenthouse.
People's Choice
The three highest voted Apps will each receive a People’s Choice Award and will be featured in the Talenthouse blog and social media channels.

Helpful Tips

- Share your submission before voting opens. (Your 'supporters' will be invited to vote for you as soon as voting opens.)
How The Jury Will Choose
The jury will select from all qualified submissions with special consideration for the top voted entries. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.
Guidelines
- You have to be named an official 'finalist' in one of the 2 day codeathon events held on 21-22 April 2012 in order to submit your video description / demo.

- You can pre-record a short video and upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and submit the link here.
- You can click the webcam "Rec" button and record your video right here.
- Or you can upload a few screenshots and a project description.
