Biografie Art + Wonder

Diana Iris Baltazar has been training in the arts since her lessons with a private drawing teacher at the age of 9. She started sewing her own clothes at 11. She had her first spontaneous religious experience at the age of 16.

After earning two Bachelor's degrees from Brown University: one in Fine Art and the other in Comparative Religious Philosophy, she started her first fashion line in Providence, RI. Moving to New York City in 2005, she worked as a Stylist for Fashion Photography until her philosophical side called her to enter graduate studies at NYU's Visual Culture: Costume Studies department, where she is currently a Master's candidate.

Diana has been trying to reconcile her twin passions of spirituality and fashion design for some time. Her extensive study and experience in both sectors has taught her that Fashion is the arena in which profound insights about human nature reveal themselves during times of great cultural shift. So it is during our tumultuous present that she chooses to combine her interests into Humanuniform, a fashion line of Sacred Artefacts, objects that go beyond the Look of meaning to the actual Substance-- Artwork informed by her knowledge of world religions and her penchant for a Post-Modern aesthetic.
