Dillon Wallwork is a London hat designer who creates high quality bespoke hats and couture headpieces. With over 25 years in the industry, he has created millinery for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the late Diana Princess of Wales as well as for celebrity clients. Kate Middleton recently wore one of his hats to the Order of the Garter ceremony at Windsor Castle.

Dillon has collaborated with leading designers across the UK, including Bruce Oldfield, Tomasz Starzewski, Catherine Walker, Stewart Parvin and Eleanor Ofori, designing millinery to complement their outfits and fabric. He has provided collections to some of London’s prestigious retailers including Selfridges, Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Fortnum & Mason as well as Saks 5th Avenue in New York.

Based in London, Dillon specialises in contemporary hat design to suit the elegant and sophisticated woman. He provides a discreet consultation service for exclusive commissions, working with each client to create a design that will flatter and suit both the person and the outfit. Dillon Wallwork and HATalk e-magazine are offering milliners around the globe the opportunity to gain massive exposure and show off their millinery talents by competing in this hat making competition to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth ll. Milliners should submit hats inspired by the concept of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Hats will be judged on their originality and theme interpretation, along with the quality of workmanship displayed.

Hat Works, the UK's only museum dedicated solely to the hatting industry, hats and headwear, will be putting on an exclusive exhibition of the winning hats to coincide with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee weekend (June 2nd - 5th, 2012).

Dillon Wallwork and HATalk's Choice

The hosts' choice will receive free enrollment on one of the Millinery workshops led by milliner Dillon Wallwork held at Chateau Dumas. The prize includes chateau accommodation, all meals, 5 days of full-time tuition and local trips to markets and hat factories. Chateau Dumas is an elegant 18th century chateau and estate near Toulouse in southwest France. Lying at the heart of French hat-making, Chateau Dumas is a centre for millinery and other creative residential workshops including textiles, beading and themed weeks. The first place hat will be included in the special Diamond Jubilee Exhibition at Hat Works. The hat will also be featured in HATalk e-magazine and on HATalk's Facebook and Twitter Pages.

• The second place choice will be given £250 worth of Guy Morse-Brown Hat Block vouchers and their hat will also be displayed in the Diamond Jubilee Exhibition at Hat Works. The hat will also be featured in HATalk e-magazine and on HATalk's Facebook and Twitter Pages.

• The third place choice will be given HATalk's Hat Lovers Deluxe Set, which sells for £199. Their hat will also be displayed in the Diamond Jubilee Exhibition at Hat Works. The hat will also be featured in HATalk e-magazine and on HATalk's Facebook and Twitter Pages.

People's Choice

The people's choice will be given HATalk's Hat Lovers Deluxe Set, which sells for £199. They will also recieve £250 worth of How2Hats ebooks and their hat will be displayed at the Diamond Jubilee Exhibition at Hat Works. The hat will also be featured in HATalk e-magazine and on HATalk's Facebook and Twitter Pages.

Dillon Wallwork and HATalk will select from all qualified submissions with special consideration for the top voted entries. A qualified submission is one which meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines and Official Rules.

Terms and conditions of the first prize "Chateau Dumas"

The free enrollment may be taken in 2012 (subject to availability) or during 2013. The prize includes chateau accommodation, all meals, 5 days of full-time tuition and local trips to markets and hat factories. Not included in the prize are flights to Toulouse, airport transfers and millinery materials (foundation materials, however, are included).
