About Eddie Eagle

Voice Talent and Music/Soundscape Artist

Location United States, Washington, La Center

Bio I\\'m a voice actor/artist for entertainment and broadcast advertising primarily. What\\'s that mean? I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'m that voice you would hear on a commercial, a TV series, on the internet, a movie trailer, a phone system, or a corporate presentation. The end product? Just me telling a story.

As a voice actor/artist I\\'m also a Renaissance Man continually reinventing myself because the world around me is continually changing, kind of like how a chameleon changes colors to adjust to its environment.

Traveling extensively as a kid, because my father worked in aerospace and electronics, I got to experience a lot of this beautiful country\\'s culture and the people that make it up. As a fortunate result.. I have friends all over the place! I\"ve also travelled Europe, Japan, Mexico, Central America, Canada, The Carribean, and Morocco. With that exposure, so many great friendships & exchanges across the planet, I consider myself blessed to have tasted so much of the world. I draw from that life experience and apply it to my craft each day because it\\'s all about relating to each other.

I think of myself as a Futurist too. While I enjoy living in the now and reminiscing about the past, I find the future holds so many possibilities and whether it\\'s cultural or technological there\\'s a fascination inside me driving me to try and predict where the future will take us, and at the same time, revel in its unfolding when it surprises us all.

Since kneehigh to a water moccasin, (How tall is that??? Since snakes have no legs!) I studied and played music, sang and performed theater throughout my school years. Music has always been an influence in my life and I find it a language of expression. I\\'m a product of Pop Culture spending way too much time compulsively watching cartoons, movies and TV as well as listening to the radio especially when I was young (as Eric Bourdon sang it).

Born blessed with a singing voice, I developed a vocal range to create the same flow, sounds and movements I grew up with beginning in the late 50s on to this very moment as you read these very words. I\\'m grateful for the rhythm of life and the ability to keep a finger on it, or at least tap my toe to it.

My first real voice work was working as Technical Director and Emcee for Major Arena Concerts and live events at a 10,000 seat coliseum, 2 theaters and various venues on the University of Southern Mississippi campus. I stood on stages announcing shows as well as coordinating the whole technical setup. Shows included: Bob Dylan and the Rolling Thunder Revue, The Doobie Brothers, Earth Wind and Fire, War, Blue Oyster Cult, Boz Skaggs, and many more top name recording artists as well as big name comedians like Steve Martin on his Wild and Crazy Guy Tour.

My entertainment advertising experience includes working for Columbia Pictures, Virgin Video, and other major entertainment companies in advertising, licensing, and buying and selling literally Millions of movies, music and games on Videocassette, DVD, & CD. Yeah, I can sell darn near anything, but movies and entertainment are my specialty (which is why I love the trailer guys out there). I\\'ve seen almost every trailer and sizzle reel for all the major and independent studios at one time or another, as it was part of my job in the 80s & 90s to actually watch them so I knew what I was selling!

I was also GM of Hollywood Confidential Home Video Label whose catalog of titles were Road Show Exploitation Movies from the 20s-50s with titles like, \"Confessions of a Vice Baron\", \"Wrestling Racket Girls\" (aka \"Racket Girls\"), \"Devil\\'s Harvest\", \"Dance Hall Racket\" featuring Lenny Bruce, \"Hollywood Confidential\" and more. These road show movies have a colorful history and were shown by what were known as \"Trunk Guys\" that would travel around the countryside in their cars with movies in the trunk and in the same fashion as the original Warner Brothers would do in Ohio, show movies on the side of a tent or any barn that may have been available. I also ran 2 other home video labels, Showcase Video and JLT Films which kicked off the exercise video trend with Jane Kennedy\\'s Workout that was soon to be followed by the Jane Fonda workout series by major video label Lorimar.

I moved from Chicago to Washington state and started my own company, Eddie Eagle Entertainment, in 1993 and more recently MovieTrailerGuy.Com with a focus as off screen talent. Everyone always said \"you really should be talking\" but I told them I need to learn the business side first. So I guess I\\'ve come full circle now. I also consult in the entertainment industry and have an inhouse studio equipped for audio and video editing.

While finishing my BA in Broadcasting at Western Kentucky University I was On Air Promo Writer/Producer for an ABC affiliate as well as a DJ at WKYU college radio. I also have a BS in Hotel/Restaurant Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. (Yep, I kin cook and I lived in the Deep South for quite a while)!
