Crooks' lyric-driven and soul-wise music has drawn comparison to Lucinda Williams, Chrissie Hynde and Natalie Merchant. Deborah has had her tunes included on compilation Cds and appeared at many festivals and events including Sunset Junction, California Music Fest and the Harmony Festival. In late 2008, she released a full-length Cd "Adding Water to the Ashes " featuring a cast of great Bay Area talent that's received radio and rave reviews from the blogosphere and beyond. In 2009, she toured the NorthWest as part of Indie Abundance™: Music, Money & Mindfulness and released an EP of tunes from a new project "Crooks/Walsh Blues." Deborah recently received a Bay Bridged Recording Grant to return to the recording studio and is currently working on a follow-up Cd in anticpation of going on The Great Idea Tour with Jean Mazzei in March.
