there are two distinct sides to my career. on the one hand i am an ambitious and technical commercials and music videos director. amongst many others i have done ads for brands like Philips, Bacardi, Vodafone, Coca Cola, Roboinson's, Discovery Channel etc

On the other an award winning filmmaker and writer with multiple feature projects in different stages of development in different countries .

i strongly believe both sides compliment each other.

Ort Niederlande

Biografie Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, I studied as an art director at the prestigious Red & Yellow School of Advertising and worked as a Graphic Designer in the publishing Industry. In 2001, in search of new experiences, I swapped in the surf and the mountains for the drugs and prostitutes, i mean windmills and museums in the Netherlands; Amsterdam to be exact. It was here that i found my love for another, even more powerful sensory medium, film and spent the following years hungrily discovering the industry and the art of cinema. The Netherlands turned out to be an abundant source of learning and experience for me in this field, getting the opportunity to learn directly from such influential film gurus as Judith Weston, Robert McKee and many more from all over the world. As my place and reputation in the Dutch film industry became established, i was to reunite with advertising once more, but this time as a director. Now, living the dream, I consider myself lucky enough to balance the fast paced, highly visual art of commercials with the slow yet searching narrative craft of cinema.
