"Trees Are Like Water" Por Nancy Agati
digital photograph, light box, steel articulated arm, diffusion glass 57”x18”x4” diptych of a maple tree shot from two separate vantage points. The shadows of the leaves fall across the trunk of the tree and in circular patterns along the ground. The diffusion glass, held by the movable steel arm, is situated in front of the image for viewing sections of the photograph and is intended to further break up and distort the image while offering the illusion of movement. By observing the green and blue photograph through the scope the viewer sees an image which suggests the existence of a visual analogy between forms of water and other natural elements, such as trees.
