On April 21st 2012, as part of the International Space Apps Challenge, we were asked to create a resource in a weekend with both first and third world application!

Our success was the result of a dedicated team who is passionate about exploring the potential of unused land for growing fruit, vegetables and other crops. Multiple resources (currently in the Beta testing phase) have been designed to reduce the barriers to growing by taking location, climate, and growing requirements into consideration to provide potential farmers recommendations they need when deciding what to plant.
1) A SMS Discovery Tool for persons in areas lacking internet or smartphone access
2) An Android App
3) A user interface for a website for persons preferring to use a computer, which hosts SMS instructions and the Android App
