Öz Geçmiş Chase (Cha Cha) Malone is a Seattle native of Filipino and African American descent. He is a truly gifted artist who has skills not only in music, but in both visual arts and performing arts. He graduated from The Art Institute of Seattle in Fall of 2009 where he earned his B.F.A. in Media Arts and Animation.
At 3 years old, Cha Cha began to show promise when his simple art project at day care turned out to be a colorful drawing of a very detailed science fiction creature. Art became his outlet. He continued to draw through high school where he was well decorated, becoming the first student to finish his beginning, intermediate and advanced art courses by the first semester of his sophomore year. He won best portfolio at Franklin High School, 5th place in a Seattle School District wide contest where teachers selected the students to represent their schools, as well as a statewide contest for drawing a cover to an annual program. His artwork was also featured in The Art institute’s quarterly publication known as “Fuel Magazine”.

By middle school Cha Cha found another passion and entered the world of breakdancing at 12 years old. In 2005 he appeared on an MTV Made episode. His dancing has led him to South Korea, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Miami, Boston, Columbus, California, Oregon, Canada, Hawaii, Alaska and New York. He currently is a loyal member of Art of Movement (AOM), a Seattle based b-boy crew established in 2002, which consists of 11 members. He feels they have been blessed and fortunate enough to have collectively traveled worldwide, networking, meeting new people, all while expressing themselves through dance and b-boy culture.

To top it all off, Cha Cha has a natural sense of music and started playing piano by ear at 7 years old. He began producing and writing songs in 2000 and over the past few years has started taking his music to the next level, having recently released his very first indie mini album ”BREAKTHROUGH” in June 2011. He is currently composing songs for one of Korea's music industry's most talented artists; Jay Park. Together, they landed 2 consecutive weeks of winning Music Bank as a #1 chart placement for the record titled "Abandoned". Cha Cha Malone also composed 4 of 7 tracks on Jay Park's first solo debut album, placing #3 on the Billboard world album charts on the first week.

He has a strong desire to become a well-known producer and creates music with major artists in mind. His love for old school music gives his songs appeal to both young and mature audiences. He grew up listening to Motown artists, Luther Vandross, Monica, Brandy, Xscape, Tamia, Toni Braxton, Babyface, Montell Jordan and many more. He is strongly influenced by Quincy Jones, Joe Thomas, Bryan Michael-Cox and Ryan Leslie.

Cha Cha was raised solely by his mother and believes that along with the love and encouragement he received from her and his grandmother, these three artistic passions have shaped him into who he is presently. He has been told to never give up on his dreams and that anything worth having is worth working for. His mom has often told him, “Someone has to make it, why not you?”
